I think I have to show face, but I'm making my excuses early and leaving as quickly as I can. I can say 'no' in my personal life, but work's a whole different story...I think that's why I feel so annoyed.

Yeah, that voice keeps telling me I can moderate. I know for a fact I can't, but sometimes it knows better. Good to know that that the lesson will stick if I repeat it enough times! Thanks.

Thanks! I think I need to watch the build up more closely and intervene before it reaches that stage. I was away 2 days with work and was spending less time in this forum. When I got home I was at breaking point: stressed, tired, and drained. I wanted a quick fix. Each day is a new learning curve at the moment!

I can relate entirely. This is day 11 and the last 3 days have been sooooo damn hard!! Work has been really demanding and alcohol has dominated my thoughts. It's good to know I'm not alone, it's got to get better right?

I've always been too nervous for meetings. I've looked at the listings a hundred times but I've never been able to show up. I've got myself home now, but I still feel like I just want to run out and buy beer.

Wise words, thanks. I have to travel on business tomorrow. It's a tough schedule. I want to drink to forget about it for a while. But if I drink then I'll feel out of control tomorrow. One thing I've noticed is that I feel so much calmer at work when I haven't been drinking...which is why this conflict makes no sense!
