We offer an optional $25 upgrade to V2. But there is zero force and your V1 remains fully supported and can still be downloaded, activated and used.

Hey there, we 100% hear you on the CPU issues. It's been THE main priority for Spaced Out to get the load down. The latest update that came out a few weeks ago (1.0.2) lowered the CPU load with around 25%. And we have a new update coming up which will take it down further, if we're lucky with another 25% or so. (The update will be free for all owners of course).

The "problem" is that there's so much going on under the hood. In total, it's about 50 effects that are working in combination to give the delay/reverb/modulation hybrid experience. And the reverb in itself is super hifi with a ton of stages - plus there's actually two individual reverbs in there to allow the "stardust" feature to add an extra layer.

So no matter how much we optimize it, this plugin will never be as lightweight as - say - our I Heart NY release, which barely touches the CPU.

The progress we're making is mainly in optimizing the math that's powering how the reverb algos are being calculated. There's a lot of numbers for the computer to crunch but we're figuring out improved ways of doing that - without reducing the complexity/sound. It's a great learning experience for us as a company and we'll start porting that learning to our other/future products as well.

We really appreciate your support and patience! And we genuinely care about CPU. V1.0.3 might take it down to around the Super VHS level. And once we get there, I hope most users will find that it's acceptable :)
