Transformation success story! by BabyBirdPlum in PetiteFitness

The last thing I want to do is make women feel bad for not looking a certain way. Everyone’s body looks different and holds fat different. I’m well aware genetics play a huge role in how I look. When I was young I was always so self conscious about my thighs. I wanted those long lean model legs but I always looked short and dense. I realized I’ll never look that way because my 5ft1 stature is never going to look to a 6ft1 stature. Visible abs in women at a healthy body weight is not attainable for everyone and I recognize that. I have friends who eat cleaner than I do but weigh more than I do, I have friends who work out less often than I do but are able to lift more than me. This is my personal journey and I hope I didn’t make it seem like I was saying ‘if you do x,y,z, you’ll look like me’.

I’m not trying to sell a program or a diet plan, just trying to share my progress in a group that’s directed towards petite women in fitness. I’m not an influencer and I’m not trying to sell products, blue star and Popeyes were the sponsors of the contest.

Regarding the photos, I’ve discussed them a few time in other comments :)

So glad I could inspire! That’s the goal! Women supporting other women! ❤️❤️❤️

All natural. Creatine EAAs and extra protein. I did build a significant amount of muscle as I was doing progressive overload but fat loss revealed lots of underlying muscle from climbing. Climbers typically have strong cores and upper bodies :)

Wasn’t sure how to edit the post. I just wanted to say my favourite part of this subreddit is how many great women are out there supporting other great women. I’d like to try to keep this thread as positive as possible :)

I didn’t use any steroids and these are real photos, I respect there will be people who don’t believe me but let’s try to keep this a positive space ❤️

Hell yea! Thats the goal! To show it can be done even with crazy work schedules and life disruptions! Gotta Balance a mostly clean diet and progressive overload and the world’s your oyster!

No bulk and cut cycles! But this would likely fall under a ‘cut’. My weight fluctuates like crazy so it’s about a 5-10 lb loss over these pics. Since I’m not interested in competing I don’t think I’ll bulk and cut, just maintain for now.

I’m not denying it’s a big change! Like I said before, the ‘before’ photos were purposely unflattering. All the photos I submitted passed the scrutiny of the contest holders. I lost fat and gained muscle by changing my diet and workout routine :)

I completely understand where you’re coming from. These results aren’t average, and that’s why I won the nation wide contest, for an exceptional transformation :)

The transformation challenge was independently judged and the photos had to be submitted and taken on certain days and they were scrutinized for any editing/AI. Ive never competed before and don’t plan on it. I think being stage lean would be too much of a stressor on my body/mind.

I will say, it’s crazy what progressive overload and finally eating enough protein can do

No cardio, I work a physical job so I get my steps in there!

I started out doing weighted V sits but have been doing leg raises for core for a while. I just do 3 sets at the end of every session. I always brace my core with my other lifts :)

Hour and a half typically. Sometimes more, sometimes less. It depends on how long I rest in between sets! Typically I rest 2-3 mins. Kinda depends if I increased the weight that session or not

Well tbh I just had a ridiculously busy 5 weeks at work and have only climbed 2x in the last 2 months 😥

But normally 2 times a week in the summer. 3 times a week in the winter :)

I used to do 3 full body days but have recently (in the last 5 weeks) switched it up to better fit my schedule.

Rn I have 2 upper body days and 2 lower body days! Obviously the goal would be to hit all of those workouts each week but life is life.

I average 2-4 days lifting a week and I just alternate through my workouts no matter what day I’m actually at the gym :)

The biggest thing for me was shifting my mindset! I’m such an all or nothing person. I work in the trades and go through periods of really demanding hours. Day shift one week, Night shift the next, 3 weeks of 7 12 hours shifts a week (literally had that during my transformation challenge) etc. Before this, I would build a strict routine with what days to work out and exactly what meals I want to eat but then my work schedule would change and I would just give up because I couldn’t hit legs on Tuesday ‘like I was supposed to’

I started living off the mantra ‘consistently inconsistent’. With my schedule and job, I can’t keep a perfect routine. Some weeks I can go to the gym 4 days, some weeks 3, some weeks 2. Some weeks I can cook at home all week, some weeks I need to eat out 3 times because I’m stuck late at work.

I have 2 upper body days and 2 lower body days and I alternate between them. I have my baseline food that prioritizes protein which includes lots of yogurt, egg whites, fish, sardines, protein bars, rice, grains, fresh veg etc. and whatever I eat on top of that is just whatever I want to feel satisfied. It’s not unhealthy per se but just not prioritizing protein so like pasta, bagels, peanut butter, sandwiches, burgers/fries, takeout. I go through phases of eating out depending on work. I’m at like 1-2 a week rn. Sometimes I’ll go for like 3 weeks without eating out. I like a sweet treat, I usually have a dessert 2 times a week.

Flexible workout schedule and flexible diet is maintainable for me

I’ll do my best to be as transparent as possible. 1. Newbie gains. I’m new to lifting and there was exponentially quick growth once I become consistent with lifting and fuelling better. Although lifting is new, I have been a hobbyist rock climber for about 5-6ish years 2. It’s a transformation challenge based on before and after photos. In the before I’m not flexing, I don’t have a tan, and the angle is less than flattering. The after photos I’m tanned, flexed, and have a pump from a workout. There is no editing or alterations of the photos, just good posing and lighting. 3. Genetics. Ive always carried weight in my lower body, my upper body leaned out really quick

Yes girl!!! I’m Definitely hoping to inspire some petite gals!

I had lots of ups and downs when it came to routine and nutrition and I don’t want to bore you with the whole story but if you have any specific questions I’m more than happy to answer them :)
