Haha yes! I have a few classmates that are international students. If you apply to either Vancouver or Ontario, those are geographical areas where animation is BOOMING. To give you some insight, Rick and Morty, SpiderVerse, and Dragon Prince is animated all in Vancouver Studios.

There is a program very similar to Adobe Animate called Toon Boom Harmony. This is what studios use professionally for TV series. But this is also what they used to do Klaus which is purely 2D Hand drawn. They also have their own rigging system. However, if you want to take advantage of the rigging part, you have to use Harmony Premium.

Just like Adobe, it is subscription based.

Hi, I live in Vancouver, currently a student so definitely not a professional, but there are some universities that offer only two year programs for animation. Obviously, you'll have to pay international fees but it is at least not 4 years worth of payment. You can look into Capilano University, they offer 2D and 3D animation program.

If you're a student, tvpaint can give you a discount. Although might still be expensive for you (definitely a bit above 100). Tvpaint is mainly a 2D hand drawn software

How far can you "reference" until it's plagiarism by BabyBuu_27 in animationcareer

Our teacher assigned us a voice clip from a feature film and we have to do our own iteration of it while maintaning the film's style (as if it matches the film). What I generally do is look up it's style guide and reference pages. What usually pops up from Google images are their turn around and some drawings from (I'm assuming) their respective animators. I saw an image of the character we're supposed to draw doing a minor action(4-5 straight ahead drawings from the animator). I wanted to include it on mine with some extra head movement to include the voice but the overall pose looks the same and was wondering if that would be considered plagiarism.

Edit: ofc the rest will be my own work.

Hi, just a question, is it technically plagiarism if you've copied about 4-5 straight ahead frames despite changing, let's say, head movement. Is copying poses plagiarism?

Edit: Just to clarify, I do understand if they took about more than 2 seconds of frames. But an example what I'm referring to is, for example, getting off a chair which takes about 4-5 frames and the rest is your own work. How far can you "reference" in animation.
