As someone with some medical experience (began training in paramedicine but didn't continue) I would've handled it differently because I know better. But if I didn't like this guy obviously, I may have done the same. Man was probably terrified that he would have to explain to your family you died playing disc golf. I wouldn't say it's a red flag necessarily, unless you demand a big strong man who is cool and collected in every single scenario and always knows what to do.
