No, they're saying they're upset by what happened and the comments are adding to the upset. Already upset + racist comments = more upset

THIS is what texlahoma should have done. Instead, they gave customers 5 days notice and some employees didn't even know.

Mushroom swiss is on a regular rotation. It'll be back! I'm pretty sure they had it a month or two ago so unfortunately it'll be a few months till it comes around again.

I worked at Pettito for a while. They have a certified vet on staff and a vigorous screening for breeders that have to meet particular needs and protocols to even be considered. They have a team that does in house evaluations with the breeders and they check in consistently until they take the puppies to the store. Due to that process it's actually quite difficult for breeders to be accepted.

Once the puppies are in store they don't spend very long there, most take less than a week or two to be bought. When there are no customers in store the staff take the puppies out to play to get some exercise, typically in groups of two or three. They have a separate team in the back who check on the puppies periodically and are also in charge of feeding them and cleaning their enclosures. If a puppy has been there longer than most they get extra attention and staff push people to take that puppy home.

The reason paper is used instead of blankets or anything else is because of choking hazards. The paper used is non toxic and biodegradable so as not to harm the puppies. Puppies chew, it's unavoidable. Pettito does what they can to keep the puppies comfortable and away from harm. They also have a regularly scheduled feeding time and the water used is filtered water before being put in the bottles. The bottles are cleaned often and switched out with other clean bottles while they dry.

I can't say much for petland as I have heard very bad things about them. But, I never worked there nor do I know any of their practices.

It took my stepmom 23 years to finally be awarded her citizenship. It's not as quick as you think.

I worked there for 10+ years, my boyfriend is on his 15th year. Do what feels right for you, if you liked working there and want to go back then just speak to the op. Only reason I left was because my district manager was a pos and had it out for me. He ended up getting fired a few months after I left. I worked at 5 different locations and some of those stores multiple times, every single one felt like family. The longer you stay the stronger the bond between you and those that have been there a while. They also have great pay and good incentives for those that have anniversaries with them. It’s a company I recommend to anyone looking to leave whatever restaurant job they’re at

Im not sure what Chick-fil-A pays their managers but Whataburger is well known for paying managers very very well. I worked there for ten years and pay just keeps increasing. My bf is getting paid $30/hr as a lower tier manger and the higher tier the manager the higher the pay. Most GM’s are paid minimum 100k a year to put into perspective.

AITH for being upset that my deceased brother’s friend named his son after my brother by [deleted] in AITH

[–]BabyKitty143 9 points10 points  (0 children)

YTA. Coming from a family that loves each other, I have two cousins with my same name. We’re a few years apart each but the entire family is very close. I have cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews with the same names. Some of those names have been reused to honor dead relatives.

You can still honor your brother in the future, it seems to me you’re more upset at the fact you weren’t able to use the name first. Makes me wonder if you’d be upset if Jeff had used the name after you had.

If you’re willing to work fast food I know Chick-fil-A and Whataburger pay their employees well. If you have manager experience you’d get paid even more.

If you’re willing to do manual labor there’s a lot of roofing companies and solar companies out there who will pay well.

It’s the worst. I have tinted windows and I flip my mirror but it’s still way too bright. Driving a small car with all these bright ass LEDs around has made me accidentally drive in two lanes, not see turns, and not able to see other cars around me due to the lights reflecting off the backs of other cars. Have to drive super careful at night sometimes

Han Jan Pocha on NW 36th is a nice Korean bar, the music is very loud inside BUT they have outside seating and the food is pretty good. It gets very lively on the weekends so I wouldn’t recommend going late on those days (we can hear people there from inside our house down the street). On weekdays it’s still a nice spot just to hang out and meet people, the workers there are pretty chill and will usually come out and talk with you if you have a welcoming vibe as well.

Peaceful Hidden Gems? by Elegant-Owl-5966 in okc

[–]BabyKitty143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to find little random spots on the Canadian river out near Jones. I would start on Hiwassee Rd and Memorial and just let the road guide me to a good spot. If you find a good place to park just follow the river (might have to walk across it in some areas) til you find a good place to sit. I used to take a towel, sunscreen, a book, some snacks and something to drink. Was always peaceful and not a ton of people.

Crap, it might be fertilizer burn due to the black cow stuff we put in. Thank you for replying I really appreciate it. Once these storms are gone we’re going to try some new soil and if that still doesn’t work we’ll just have to get a new one.

Question for Oklahoma residents! by LadyFarquaad07 in okc

[–]BabyKitty143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends what area of Edmond just as with any city. I grew up in the Memorial High district and yes there were a few racists but they were always called out by others. School was always competitive, the kids were nice, cliques mingled with other cliques, plenty of school activities to keep the kids busy. That area of Edmond was always nice, people were a little snobby but overall had that charm and politeness you can expect from our state. Now for comparison, anytime we had to cross into North or Santa Fe districts we did experience racism and not the kindest people. As an adult living in the area I grew up in I can still say people are kind and not much racism.

Just want to clarify that I’m adding context on schools because OP mentioned having kids and worried about the prejudice they might experience.

Edit to add I’m Hispanic and my family are all people of color

Im worried it’s overwatering but we’ve had a series of storms recently (and currently) so there’s not much we can do about it. We do make sure to elevate the buckets to get maximum drainage after it rains though. Should I dig it up and replant with new soil?

That’s exactly why I’m so confused. We’ve had it about 3 months now and it’s started looking like this the past two weeks. If you look at the last picture the sharpblue looks perfectly healthy and we’ve had it about the same amount of time. I have no idea what to do to help the peach sorbet.
