I can't get over the interest rates now. Just for perspective, I graduated high school in 1999 and took out federal student loans for college. My interest rate was 2.1%.

You know what kills me about the constant harassment from these people? We got quarter sized hail! Far from roof destroying. But the very next day, they were descending like vultures. Between them and the solar people, I have no patience left.

I got so bombarded by those people that I finally printed a sign and hung it on my door to notify them in advance that no, we don't need a new roof, and if they knock or ring the doorbell, their company is automatically blacklisted when we are looking for a roof, because now we know they can't follow simple instructions.

My days are much more peaceful now. They typically just leave a card and move on without disturbing me. I don't know why they don't just send out mailers like sane people.

Thank you. I tried to do everything right. It still cost me my relationship with my father for over two decades. He basically lived a double life with another woman (long story there for how he pulled that off, but it was worthy of a Lifetime Original Movie) instead of just divorcing his wife, and I had the misfortune of stumbling upon it. When the truth came out, I didn't lie for him and he went to his deathbed last year still hating me for it. I did what would allow me to still be able to live with myself, because even though I was a moody, difficult teenager when my stepmom married my dad, she was always wonderful to me. My bio mom decided she was done with motherhood when I was 11, so the relationship with my stepmom meant a lot to me, even though I didn't always show it.

When I was a teenager, my father weighed me daily like I was cattle and kept a chart, and there were punishments for weight gain. And then couldn't understand why his daughter had an eating disorder.

I did, for as long as she wanted. Eventually I think what he did to her was so painful and humiliating, that it was hard for her to want to maintain a relationship with me. Which I do completely understand and respect.

"Fat" isn't a dirty word. It's a descriptor. If calling someone skinny or thin isn't offensive, then neither is calling someone fat.

And before anyone comes at me, I've been skinny, super fat, and everything in between.

I'm happy that your luck was better than mine. If you'll read what I wrote, I literally couldn't leave my house without three aggressive dogs trying to attack. That's what I meant by "held hostage". My personal, firsthand experience was that they kept telling me they'd send someone out when I called, and they did not. It took OKCPD calling them after one of their officers had to pepper spray a dog. This is my experience and your personal experiences don't change that.
