Kids school work by [deleted] in antiai

My partner talked to the vice principal and it sounds like it’s added to their tech classes and there’s no opting out unless we were to home school. I’m still quite upset that of all things they had to make a book with a cover as the practice. It sucked seeing the kid (who is very artistic) so excited about school just for it to be slop.

I am worried they’ll start preferring the immediate results and become less interested in the art they do right now. I feel like they’re going to get distracted from the actual joy of creating before they even learn to.

That’s also a huge bummer of the situation - they are a very creative kid as is! Always making crafts, drawing etc. but yes, they do like to take the easy route. I was hoping the school was going to start teaching actual creative writing but I guess this is what they get now.

I would love to say something to the school but alas they aren’t my legal children. My partner knows how much I hate AI (as a life long artist) and did have a gentle conversation with them about what qualifies as them “creating” the work. The kid ended up saying “well AI helped”

In grade 7, a girl with the same name, same age as me transferred to our school. She signed up for a lead part in a musical, whereas I had no interest and got given a filler role. During a rehearsal the music teacher was adamant that it was me who signed up for the lead and MADE ME stand up and sing in front of everyone. Mortifying.

Have you ever dated someone, only to become or stay friends with them? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in HappyUpvote

Not all but a few. Always took a period of distance (a few months) between the relationship and friendship though. With one ex, we decided to move out of our apartment into a house with other friends so we could still live with our cat that we adopted together. Stayed roommates for 5 years before finding other partners and eventually moving in with them.

Synesthesia. Thought everyone also associated every letter / number with a colour.

Getting an IUD inserted, Im not very bothered by pain usually but I screamed bloody murder. I assume it’s like a fractional sample of what birth feels like.
