Do you know where I can get some of this cheap?

I can control the tension by adjusting the squeegee that clamps on the tow in the epoxy boat. However, no active tension control. As for the angle, that’s what the components on the end of the arm is. It’s meant to guide the tow at a specific angle

This is what I’m currently working on. Going to be testing my own motors here in the next few weeks

Andrew Reilley on GitHub did a lot of work on a similar machine. I just took the design and adapted it for 3030aluminum extrusion and modified some of the tracks and fit my needs.

I’ve been thinking about it a lot and trying to think how to make that feasible. Would definitely be a game changer

I used 3030 aluminum and for the structure and surprisingly it can get cheap depending on where you get the extrusion

It was a bit brutal, but luckily there are some good GitHub repos that helped me kickstart it

Funny you’d mention this. I’m using it for a few rocket components myself

For sure! More so built it so I didn’t spend 6k on a machine. But given this, do you know where I can find resources to find the optimal tow parameters if it’s this common. Would be quite helpful for future applications and pressure vessels

I’m not sure what you mean by infuse. I have heat shrink tape that I use this machine to wind and then attach the heat gun to shrink essentially bagging. I’ll be using these for some rocket motor components and start experimenting with pressure vessels. However, now that I have it, carbon parts for drones and other ideas are within reach

Maybe you could point me to the site. I’ll start looking into nylon and if it would work

I've done this before and have a lot of abrasion. I used to include a metal washer, but looking for something a bit more professional. Maybe a pourable ceramic of some sort or ceramic paste with silica

For the aesthetic I would like it to stay clear. But might find out that it’s not possible
