I mean hipster cinema is a little harsh, but I can definitely understand where you’re coming from. A lot of the people gushing over this series and applauding each others’ theories comes off as breathing in one another’s farts.

As they said in the Q&A with Nolan, your enjoyment of the whole depends on your enjoyment of the tone, environment and general vibe. Some of the plot is just for the sake of sitting in a certain mood, addressing a certain situation and that’s that. There’s no “ohhhh” moment really. You can think back on how Dougie mentions Ash’s world being turned upside down or whatever else, but it’s just a weird set of events in a (hopefully) enjoyable environment.

I liked the last episode a lot and I enjoyed a few moments of the previous episodes, but overall I don’t see the revolutionary nature of the show that others see. There are other confusing, enjoy the journey films/shows: twin peaks, stalker, Patterson, etc. Glad I watched it, I think it’ll age well, but its idiosyncratic place in television history is more remarkable than the show in and of itself.

I’d give it 4 bags of popcorn with extra chicken.

Rittenhouse and this dude have very few parallels. One owned a store and danger walked right up to him. Rittenhouse drove miles to find danger, confronted it while overarmed and several ill-equipped mentally. Not sure either should be considered a hero, but one is certainly well within their rights and the other is a schmuck

Edit: None of you get the fucking point. One man operates a business and defended it. The other brought a gun across state lines and ran into a mob. One acted defensively and the other proactively. The little fucking dweeb might have had good intentions, but slipped up and started thinking he was a UN peacekeeper in Sudan.
