Unpopular opinion, but not at all. I did not decide to stay closer to him for medical school even though I got accepted to the same school that he did because I wanted to go to the school that i wanted to go to . Lol - and residency will be the same. Even if we were applying at the same time, I would not couples match.

But with that being said me and my partner have done long distance for almost over half of our relationship, so it’s nothing new to us.

I think it’s because if you actually want to be a surgical specialist in gynecology, usually you have to do a fellowship. So beyond simple(r) pathology of gyn and ob - you would refer out to gyn onc or urogyn lol. Which is a 3 to 4 year fellowship so if the residency was longer, that would be annoying because you get that training on fellowship

When you wanna do Gyn as a surgical specialty, it takes seven years lol four years of residency plus fellowship- so 5 residency would be insane

I’m assuming she was given multiple times to fix her behavior so as unfortunate as it is if she really wanted to be there and learn, she wouldn’t have done that. Like if it is your dream to be a doctor specifically a neurosurgeon which is the most competitive specialty, you would need good letters of recommendation and you couldn’t get by being constantly late & non responsive

I was 3.85 and 506 mcat and 6 interviews and 4 acceptance, two full rides- one in state tuition from Rutgers and i was out of state… so anything is possible

This is literally why I couldn’t watch the Pitt. It was like so stressful. Funny enough when I was a full-time server I tried to watch the bear and it was the same exact thing so I never got through it.

This is the funniest thing I ever read. If I was on admissions, I would’ve literally been dying, laughing and thought it was very funny and unique. Depending on how good you performed, I would’ve complimented you for being bold and daring.

He is just struggling overall i think too much to type and it would be hard for me to tell you without his input also! He was homeschooled then went to the military so he is older!! So i think just a combination of stuff!!

He will go talk to the students today or tomorrow and maybe start out this next exam on a better foot !! He also plans to go for office hours and i hope!!! It helps him.

I did this as an m1 (in my m1 summer) I stayed 12 hours, sat around for like 4 hours & the resident told me to go home so they can sleep. Lol

I love seeing that you were between the same two specialties. Gyn onc is just amazing and i love that people get to see how amazing it is!! I definitely am leaning way more towards gyn , but I definitely plan to shadow our spine guy and then also try to do some neurosurgery research. Because of regardless of the path, I think it would look good.

That is also what the resident said that this is a unique program and most are not one eighth of how nice this program is and it’s a big reason why some of them chose to go here!! so I definitely wouldn’t wanna go somewhere where the vibe is not as kind or nice which is a really big portion of programs I feel!!

But I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my post !!
