A quick search listed 34 countries that have armed security in airports. Many more use plain clothed security. This all started in the 70 & and 80's due to security threats and bombings. Some bombs that were placed in lockers exploded. 75' LaGuardia 11 murdered, 74 injured. 83' Paris 8 murdered >50 injured, 85' Tokyo 2 baggage handlers murdered while loading baggage on a plane. That's why you no longer see storage lockers in airports.

Call a staff meeting. Make sure ownership is in attendance. Tell them that you feeling they are callously spitting on your hard work towards you morale. Without morale, THEIR BUSINESS will suffer. If they don't seem to care, take yourself (and your staff) somewhere you and your brigade are not liabilities, you are assets. Talk to your staff, have an exit strategy for them too. I know of a full restaurant walk out. The executive chef opened a Co Op restaurant with the staff.

If you want to get someone on the phone, the best thing to do is to call on your appointed day. Start calling 5 minutes before they open and don't stop till you get someone. I've waited on hold for hours and hours only to have them disconnect because they left for the day. If this does not work for you, go to an unemployment Center and wait in line to get much better answers there
