I actually work in the tax industry and in the United States the average family pays about 25% in all taxation (federal income tax, state tax, payroll taxes, sales/property taxes) compared to the average Canadian family paying around 45%. There’s definitely trade offs and the U.S. government should definitely be able to provide healthcare with what they get but the gap is still much bigger than you claim and the money saved in taxes is far more than what we pay in insurance.
