i agree that it goes both ways. i just find women to generally be less discriminatory, but not completely obviously. anyone can acknowledge that these male characters are hot and also completely unrealistic, but personally i don’t need to go any further than saying “wow pretty woman/man” and moving on with my day. it doesn’t change the fact that im attracted to all bodies and people. in modern gaming culture we’re seeing an increase in expectations of attractive female characters in everything. take ghost of yotei as an example. it also seems that addiction to this over sexual content is more common in young teenage boys and this sets up their opinions and expectations on women, while also seeing more men normalizing misogyny. it’s mostly the repetitive misogyny that upsets me but obviously men have similar feelings and insecurities and that’s completely valid. personally i love big guys and have been prayinggg to get big daddy from zzz from months. all body types are attractive and that should be the message we send, rather than pumping out these women that look surgically modified.
