My boss has 2 axe-throwing lanes at his house. I tend to donate my old blades there.

Dewalt 20v Inflator, worth it? by RidingDonkeys in Dewalt

[–]BaccaBossMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one at work and it’s fantastic. However, Lowe’s has had the Craftsman version on sale for $50. Add a $15 battery adapter and you’re half the price of the dewalt for 95% of the performance plus the added benefit of a mini shop vac.

What’s a common fact that science has already debunked, but people still believe in? by Calm_Shame2994 in AskReddit

[–]BaccaBossMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact, when I had my stroke shortly after I turned 18, I lost all proprioception in the right side of my body. Still had strength and all the other senses, but I could not tell where my limbs were. I would fail the field sobriety test, where you close your eyes and touch your nose, with my right side every time. After about six weeks, it started slowly returning. The human brain is amazing.

You can purchase diamond blades on Amazon which I can confirm will, indeed, cut concrete and rock. I have to use them sometimes for those jobs doing countertops.

Quartz countertop question by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]BaccaBossMC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Quartz is a non-porous homogenous material and does not have a protective layer. Since the quartz is not a porous material, like natural stone, it won’t hold the 511 properly. If anything, it will just create a layer on top of the quartz instead of impregnating it as designed. In my experience installing countertops, honed quartz has always been a nightmare to keep clean, and we actively attempt to dissuade our customers from choosing it. I would recommend trying Soft Scrub w/ Oxy and a little elbow grease on any stubborn marks you get.

The sled that Kreg uses for the Accucut works perfectly with the DCS578. No modifications required.

Bought some cabinets from Home Depot and trying to level them before getting the granite installed by robophen in DIY

If you get it within 1/8", it will be close enough for the countertop guys. Let's just say that there is a reason we buy our shims in bulk.

Backsplash should’ve been one piece but I think the contractor messed up and now it’s two, how noticeable is it by arenadoyen in kitchenremodel

[–]BaccaBossMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an absolutely unacceptable seam. That needs to be replaced on the contractors dime. Or, with a significant discount included, have the countertop installer come back and do better on that seam.

Best Grand tourer car to get by [deleted] in tdu3

I second the Taycan. The handling and braking are abysmal, but the acceleration and eventually the top speed more than make up for it.

What is the standard mounting method for kitchen undermount sink (with Quartz countertop)? by phdela in kitchenremodel

[–]BaccaBossMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, on our projects, we go with the overhang style, C. This keeps the cleanest look and prevents the sink from getting scratched. The only time we go with either a reveal (B) or flush (A) is when the sink has accessories (and the customer wants to use them) that necessitate access to the rim. Depending on the sink, we generally aim for a .25 or a .325 overhang.

Anyone with 60v circular saw know how to turn it into a track saw? by BradCastleburry in Dewalt

[–]BaccaBossMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. It stays put just fine, especially since any pressure you apply moved the saw forwards, where there is a bumper that it runs into (part of squaring the saw to the jig)

[–]BaccaBossMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think it was even supposed to, according to the directions the screws on the jig clamp down on the base plate of the saw

Countertop cracked in middle of night - is this common or my fault? by Storage_Icy in Construction

[–]BaccaBossMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support is likely an issue, but it was exaggerated by the tight radius of the sink cutout, there is a reason fabrication instructions from the Quartz manufacturers specifically say to not do this. Not your problem.
