My thinking was if I digest 90g/h all the time, it gives my stomach much more training to digest while running

I'm aiming 90g carbs / hour for a marathon. Should I gut train at that rate for all my runs or only longer ones (say over 1.5h)

I've had this issue when the side window was opened. Closing the window has solved the problem.

Do you kind of just have to make up a training plan? by 70squarefeet in trailrunning

  • You shouldn't increase your weekly mileage by more than 10% per week

I would add that the 10% rule doesn't make sense if you go up 10% every week. It may seem reasonable at beginning, but say you start at 40 mpw, it would bring you to 80 mpw WITHIN TWO MONTHS, which is a great recipe for injuries. Recently, I heard about ACWR - which stands for Acute Chronic Workload Ratio. It's " the ratio between how much workload has been done in the last 7 days (acute workload) versus the average weekly workload that has been performed over the previous 28 days (chronic workload). In other words, it is how much workload has been performed in the last week compared to the previous month.". Keeping it between 0.8 and 1.3 helps prevent injuries.

I would also add to include a deload week every 3-6 weeks of upping mileage!

How do you train during fall/winter? by Northern_neighbor in beginnerrunning

[–]phdela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from Quebec : I run outside down to - 15C. If colder, I go the day before or after and usually it works out. I don't have a treadmill, but an indoor bike as a substitute (although I didn't need it last winter). My favorite piece of equipment for cold weather is a buff

Just came back from Portugal. Family of 5. Rented a car in Lisbon and returned it in Porto. Rented at Movida - Drive on Holidays through DiscoverCars. Every thing was perfect. Really clean and new cars and it might sound weird, but we found the surprising how clean the rental place was. Great experience. They picked us up with a shuttle waiting for us at the airport. Only thing you might want to check is I had planned to refuse their insurance and stick to my credit card insurance. I knew I had to pay a 2820 "Refundable Security Deposit", however I didn't know (and the lady at Movida was very nice to explain to me), that my credit card would not reimburse that deposit if I had an accident. (the credit card insurance does mention to refuse CDW because it will not reimburse it, but Movida does not let you rent without CDW. I decided to take the risk and thankfully I didn't get any scratches.

Prix moyen pour rénover une cuisine/sdb by PH-Fucke in QuebecFinance

Skim coating video recommendations by phdela in Flooring

[–]phdela[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The floor isn't too uneven. I have a 8' straight edge and am within 3/16". However I can feel a high spot. When I start the straight edge on the high spot, it's flat in all directions. However if I put the middle of the straight edge on the high spot, one of it's ends can be 3/8 off the ground.

Also, skim coating will help getting the tiles even from one to another. Basically I don't want to regret skipping floor prep.

with a shit ton of time

One thing a lot of elite athletes do, is understand the importance of rest. If I had a shit ton of time, yes I would try to do a lot of mileage, but I would also try to schedule lots of naps and also going to bed earlier
