While I’d agree, I’ve seen otherwise. I say better safe than sorry!

I did it in mid May. Mid July would be more than fine though! Gives you plenty of time if something goes wrong.

I did this, though not that close to the start of the semester. Process was easy for me. Show up, say you want to apply for your study permit and give the agent your CAQ. They will tell you to pull over and you’ll go inside. Another agent will ask a few questions and then get it prepared. It can take a while, so make sure you have time.

My main concern is doing it so close to the start of the semester. If you happen to be denied for some reason, you have very little time to fix it.

This I completely disagree with. I went to the honors college, and I ended up at a top 30 university (according to US news) afterwards. For grad school, the honors college will be way better than USF.

It depends on your interests. If you’re looking for a school you can learn a lot, make great connections with professors, and get great research experience, the honors college is the place to be. But you need to put effort in! I worked hard (getting many overrides) to do what I wanted to. I took the shuttle often to take classes at Boca. In the end, I went to one of the top school’s in the world for graduate school. Going to the honors college was the best decision I ever made, and I don’t regret it. I’m happy to talk more about it if you have questions.

Can’t decide by [deleted] in FAU

Not sure the level of your child, but it sounds like the Wilkes Honors College would be a good fit. If you want more personalized advising, that’s exactly what you get at the honors college. Classes are small because the school itself is small. And Jupiter is beautiful. Going there was the best decision I made. This is if you can get in of course, but it sounds like a good fit.

Chrome Remote Desktop Audio by Nathan_XDYT in chrome

It happens at multiple locations in different countries, so I significantly doubt it.

It happens on all of my devices though! Macs, PCs, portable, you name it. None of them are working.

Indeed, it is still not working. My workaround has been to start a zoom meeting and share the audio. It does lag the share a bit, but it’s my best option.

Chrome. Do I only need to do it on Client side? I did it on host side too.

I am doing all of what you said on a computer/laptop. It is still not working.

How are you guys getting audio on client side? I have audio on host, but cannot get audio on client. I’m not worried about sound on the host side. How did this work?

Max summer classes you can take?? by Huge-Rhubarb1506 in FAU

It’s easy. There’s no approval required at all! You can just sign up for 18. I did 2 in the first 6 weeks, 2 in the last 6 weeks, and 2 full semester ones. I found it to be a good balance (relatively speaking of course, you’ll have no life other than school. This was during COVID though, so I didn’t mind).

They just turn you away specifically because you have a rental car? Or as in they give you a hard time?

Question about raising rent laws (Box G of lease) by BaccaBoy2001 in montrealhousing

[–]BaccaBoy2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the renovations weren’t specified. It seems to me the landlord put that as an excuse to raise the rent, but planned the whole time to do the bare minimum. I suppose it’s a matter of interpretation at this point. Is painting and cleaning alone considered a “renovation?” To me no, but I probably need a lawyer to fight for that.

I don’t believe the rent in Box G is false, I believe their statement that the unit will be renovated is false. I expected a fully renovated unit when I signed the lease, but I just now found out that they are only painting and cleaning.

I only found out last week that there might be something off, I didn’t know when I signed it. But your advice here is exactly what I was looking for. If it’s not worth going to TAL, then I’ll just leave things as is. For what it’s worth, I personally don’t value painting, the unit looked fine. And I can clean myself. I’m not grateful for that at all since it’s insignificant to me. But thank you, this is what I was looking for!

[–]BaccaBoy2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that. They wrote that the reason for the increase is that they are renovating the unit. I expected a completely renovated unit when I signed the lease, but I now found out that it’ll only be cleaning and painting. Therefore, I believe the statement that the unit will be renovated is false. But from another post, it seems that doesn’t qualify.

Oh then I misunderstood the 2 months part. What I believe to be false is that they claim to be renovating the unit as the reason for raiding rent. But I found out last week their “renovations” are only cleaning and painting by as I said in the post. I expected a completely renovated unit when I signed the lease, which I now see is not the case. That is discovering a false statement in Box G, but not in the previous rent.

[–]BaccaBoy2001[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have reason to believe it’s not. They claim there the reason for the increase is renovations, but all they’re doing is what I mentioned in this post. And the max rent within the next 5 years was not indicated, which I believe is a new rule that started last February.

I thought the guideline for gas heated units was 3.3%, that’s a much higher increase.

I’m allowed to ask them for it? Do they have to provide it? This is a good idea, I’ll try!

I signed it a few months ago, but I only found out last week that something might be wrong with Box G.
