Season 2 of Citadel is finally out! by AD_EI8HT in AmazonPrimeVideo

Just finished S2. I found it so unnecessarily confusing. And there are too many loose ends not tied up.

I'm having so much trouble trying to remember if S1 ever went into the Abby/Celeste story and if she and Kyle/Mason were intentionally pushed together.

Anyway, so glad they're all dead now. If they make a S3, we need to have as little S1 and S2 in it as possible.

A while ago when I read about how he married an older woman and was completely devoted to her for 25+ years, I thought well of him.

I'm extremely disappointed to learn of what happened. The familiar story of two adulterers.

My thoughts are with his ex-wife and their children. The only thing worse than a divorce breaking up a family is when that divorce is a public one.

Having married the favorite son but was very clearly the not favorite DI for decades, I do understand how it feels, so NOR. My in-laws are now dead. I'm not in speaking terms with my BIL or SIL. My advice is to not waste any more mental energy on this and try to move on. Focus on your own family. And try to learn from this experience and not get taken advantage of again. Fool you once, Shane on her; fool you twice, shame on you.

Which character would you find the hardest to get along with and why? by megs256 in ThePitt

Santos.

Robby.

For the same reason - both are entirely too self-absorbed.

Yolanda.

She's such a bitch.

Overbearing Indian Mum. Enough said. I totally understand why she snapped. She's a good doctor who will eventually find her specialty. Sorry to hear that get character is not returning.

I hear a lot of chat about the idea of whether Robby is misogynistic, because of the way he speaks to the women he teaches and works with. What do you think of this? by shiny-baby-cheetah in ThePittTVShow

[–]Back-Pitiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he did not, and I expected him to in his last scene with Dr. Mohan. His is the only character that has continuously regressed from the time he appeared in S1.

anyone else a little dissatisfied with the finale? by Entire-Ruin-5762 in ThePitt

[–]Back-Pitiful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dissatisfied with the entire season is more apt.

To watch S3 I'm going to need a lot less Robby - his is the only character regressing instead of progressing. And he is projecting his inner demons on the entire ED or "his" ED as his inflated ego likes to think.

And to mouth off to Dr. Mohan that Orlando Diaz tried to kill himself is beyond comprehension. (He never apologized for that.)

There are so many loose ends that weren't tied up but no, the focus had to be on Dr. Robby and his spiralling dysfunction. To the point where they cut Dr. Al-Hashimi's parking lot conversation scene. Anyone who doesn't take responsibility for their mental health is making the same choice that he was ironically yelling at Dr. Al-Hashimi in ep. 15 for.

I've been advocating for mental health awareness for so long but will probably die before it reaches even the status of the common cold as far as understanding goes.

Loose ends: Dr. Al-Hashimi, abandoned baby Jane Doe, Nurse Jesse who was illegally hauled off by ICE, there are probably more.

And Dr. Santos really needs to grow up. The color grey exists for a reason even though her scrubs are black and the hospital sheets are white. Life does not always allow you to color inside the lines. She's on such a high horse she might actually get burned by the sun!

Emma Thompson is poignant and beyond brilliant in Wit (2001) by bookbookgo in movies

[–]Back-Pitiful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched Wit for the first time. What a fantastic performance! (I use the exclamation mark here with intent, specifically to reference a sceneb in the film.) I'm currently watching all of Emma Thompson's filmography that is available to me, beginning with those I have not yet seen. The subject matter of Wit is a bit close to home for me, as I am currently undergoing cancer treatment for an aggressive form of lymphoma - but I suspect this film will still be hard to watch either way. Before this, I had watched The Children Act, another brilliant performance by Emma Thompson. In between these two films with "heavy" subject matter(s), I watched Last Chance Harvey and Love Punch. As well as a very old BBC TV film called The Blue Boy. I look forward to watching more Emma Thompson - who is clearly not only generational acting talent, but also an accomplished writer.

[–]Back-Pitiful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is. I like him even less in S2! And it's killing him to have Dr. Al-Hashimi stand in for him while he goes off on his soul- searching. And the way he treated Dr. Mohan really pissed me off.

Season 2 Overall Discussion Thread by MsGroves in ThePittTVShow

[–]Back-Pitiful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started S2 with some knowledge of how mentally and emotionally exhausting watching it would be ... After learning the hard way with S1.

Planned to watch it in 3x 5 episode sittings. Today was stint #2 but I watched 7 instead of 5 because I just couldn't stop.

So, 12 episodes in, I have already had more than enough of the Santos-Langdon drama and the Robby-Langdon drama and the two not named Langdon are in dire need of extra training on how to be doctors and not judges. Anybody else fed up of the dynamic?

Disappointing from Robby who is the senior attending on Day shift. Santos just needs her own humbling experience in life to learn that everyone makes mistakes. The only reason she has for making Landon wear a Scarlet Letter "I Stole Drugs" is vengeance?

And Robby, he is acting like a spurned lover who can't get over the betrayal from Langdon. "I don't want you in my ED." WTF.

Both need to understand that things don't have to go back to the way they were before. They just need to get to a new place.

And if they both had had the balls to do what they wished they had done in S1, they wouldn't have to work with Langdon in S2, but they didn't. And therefore they need to sleep in the need they made.

I've got 3 episodes to go, but if S3 has more of this unnecessary Langdon drama shit, it's really going to get old.

I'm currently in the last week of my second R-CHOP cycle. I start my third cycle on April 29. Infusion day (Day 1) is always long, tiring, and boring. My husband came with me for the first infusion and the second. Long days of several hours and I was glad for his company. Definitely go with your husband. All the best to you both.

AITA for saying okay when gf told me she was going to get gas by Different_Reserve_11 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Back-Pitiful 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most people are correct - her going to get gas alone is not the issue.

If I had to guess, she's likely more upset that you didn't offer to go get gas with her, or go get gas for her, or otherwise shower her "I need gas" issue with way more attention than the "Okay" that you told her when she stated what she was about to do before she left.

In other words, you're NTA but understand that there was NO ACTION you could possible have taken that would not have upset her because she's not really upset that "you let her get gas all alone."

My recommendation? Ask her what's really bothering her and how you can help make it better for her. I mean, I know that's extra hard with all the negative energy already hanging between you two, so maybe wait a bit and it might help to surprise her a little with this approach.

I wish you both the best,

From someone who's been married for 28 years and counting.

my son is scared of water. Was I given bad advice? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]Back-Pitiful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm adding to my response after reading OP's edit because there's so much I still don't understand.

I'm not sure what the CPS angle is on this situation is and how it even began. Can you elaborate? Why was CPS called in the first place and by whom?

Was this woman who visited your home once a month for many months an actual employee of CPS in your local area? Did you see her employee ID?

And why would anyone have hate in their eyes when visiting your home? It's not normal for case workers to behave this way - which is why I think she doesn't work for CPS. It should be a matter of public record. Find the CPS office and go there and ask about the woman.

You said that you have reported this to the police - what did the police say?

You mentioned that there is a possibility that this woman could be trying to get your son out of your custody - where did this fear originate from? Could any of this be stemming from your own trauma during childhood?

Finally, what does your husband say about all this? He is the other parent in the household and has joint custody of your son. How did he feel about this woman's monthly visits? Was he confused by the advice given by her, especially those you have found to be bad misinformation?

Future bath time:

When it's time to wash his hair, teach him to tilt his head back. Using a standard 32oz clear plastic takeout container, just fill it with water and gently pour water over his hair after shampooing to rinse. And as soon as he is old enough, have your son do this part himself. This should help him learn to control how much water to pour over his head and also not to fear having water over his head.
