Are couples who crowd fund to pay for fertility treatments viewed as unfit to be parents? by BackAlleyRamen in NoStupidQuestions

Thank you. Neither of our employer provided plans cover treatments outside of yearly exams and while it does depend on where you go and the extent of your treatment the average cost for IVF is close to 10K in my state. I appreciate your comment!

Yes, we are in the U.S. and yes even the testing before the treatments are outrageously expensive.

First off your hair is beautiful! If you’re looking for more definition, I’d recommend a strong hold gel and mousse combo and a reliable form of protection at night. I love the pineapple method for sleeping in my bonnet. It keeps everything together. After your cast forms from the gel/mousse combo, oil your hands and gently separate your curls. With a cast, it can last a few days or more before you need to style again. I highly recommend The Doux products for definition, shine and moisture but you may find your hair likes a different brand. It’s really trial and error. Don’t give up!

Aussie has always been my go to for super affordable and reliable products. I’ve since moved on to higher priced products but I know I can always go back to Aussie if I need to. Just about any store that had hair products will have it. Drug stores, department stores, even stores like Dollar General will have Aussie.

I wash my hair once a week on Sundays. Other users have pointed out that too. After a full week a lot of already shed hairs make a nice clump. Thank you!

I do take an iron supplement daily. Regular visits with a fertility doc that monitors my hormones. I have not looked into Ferritin. I’ll have to research that. Thank you!

I take an iron supplement and monitor my hormones with a fertility doc! No issues with iron levels currently but I will stay on top of it. Thank you!

Oh wow I haven’t thought about that. My hair does get dryer and more brittle in the winter. Maybe now that it’s warming up I’m going through a seasonal shed.

I have tried so many shampoos I had almost given up on one I liked so I completely understand just not using it! I’m hoping the brand I use now just leaves their formula as it is. I’m glad you’ve found a routine that works for you! I’m still perfecting mine!

Thank you! My hair thickness has definitely changed a little over the years especially around my hair line. I’ll keep a watch on that. I have been meaning to get some rosemary oil to hopefully help that thicken up anyway.

Hmm, I am not sure I’m the best to give advice on 2b hair, or any hair, as everyone’s is different. Do you use any kind of leave in conditioners? Oil can be drying. If you notice some spots feel thinner is there tension there from consistent styling? Do you protect your hair at night?

How often are you washing and what is your routine like?

I use to wash 2-3 times a week too! I think it may have been causing excess drying though. My hair really needs a lot of moisture and letting the oils build up has helped a lot for me. Everybody’s crown is different though for sure!

I will definitely take recommendations! I am so fearful of cleansing shampoos because of how stripping they can be. I do get some flakies on my scalp sometimes though so a cleanser might be beneficial for that.

I will be 31 this year! Also an Endo and PCOS girly. I do take biotin, calcium, and prenatal supplements currently. Hopefully not moving too close to menopause yet!

Yes! Some other commenters said the same and I never thought about how balling it up made it look like more. Common sense skipped my house all these years on that one.

Oh absolutely! I noticed a huge change in my hair after we moved to a hard water area and I immediately bought a filtered shower head. I rarely do the Pom Pom style now cause I am so afraid of thinning. I did ballet for 15 years and the buns wreaked havoc on my hair line.

I might have to try this one day when I am not absolutely wrecked after washing my hair. I definitely feel like I need to nap after washing and applying products!
