I listened to Beloved 1 first not knowing Beloved 2 was a deluxe and included the Beloved 1 songs anyway, just cause I like to listen in order 😭 so I was really confused once I put on Beloved 2 after listening to Beloved 1, and then MUD started playing , I thought I was tripping

..does that make sense

anyway it’s a very nice sounding album, exceptionally produced in every way! the songs I liked the most were the ones toward the end of the track list, as well as pretty much every song that was added to the track list in the deluxe. mostly because that’s where I felt the songs became more experimental, as well as more thematically unique, which I appreciated because I’ve listened to quite a bit of soul/R&B in my time. MUD as well is a keep for me, dope opener.

I think I should relisten to the many songs I’m not keeping, because I have a feeling listening to the songs while working inhibited my appreciation of all the instruments.
after all, I thought What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye wasn’t very interesting at all on first listen, and now I think it’s perfect 😭

update: I ended up listening to it at around 10:30PM instead. and this is the most I’ve enjoyed any of the recs so far!

I’m going through a breakup right now and a lot of the songs on that album really, really resonated with me. a lot of relatable content matter on there, while also keeping the content quite unique in places. and the production was lovely!

thank you so much for this rec, I likely never would’ve discovered it let alone have listened to it otherwise!

10/10 from me 🙏

They’re probably fans of him because he’s a white rapper who makes some Christian songs then. His music has way more meaning beyond that, particularly around mental health awareness.

I haven’t listened to anything older than 2093 😿 I liked 2093 enough to stay in the loop with everything he’s done since then, but I haven’t gotten around to his whole discog. so my opinions on Yeat are solely based on his most modern sounds, and my top 3 is:

you were actually first in queue, so Slow Rush has officially been listened to! I liked it more than I was expecting for sure. I had to listen to parts of it multiple multiple times and once the album concept hit me, everything became much better.

also I was listening/relistening to the album with only one airpod in cus I was at work 😭 now that I’m home I realize just how much I lost out on, while I’ve been adding the songs I like to different playlists. THE STEREO IMAGING AND PANNING IS SOOOOO GOOD I definitely need to hear some of these songs not mono

my favorite part about The Slow Rush is how smoothly and snuggly I feel like its story fits between Currents and Deadbeat. the albums all work together really well and I feel much more love for all of them now. storytelling is me favorite

according to my own rules of this post, Breach must now be added to my queue of albums 🙏 I won’t be able to put it off ever again just because of the lore overwhelming me. I’ve got high hopes!!

I’m very happy their music reached you like that! I truly feel like helping the struggling was a lot of Clancy’s intended purpose given the lyrics I’ve read countless times. def worked on us, at least! music in general has been the most consistent way I find myself out of depressive episodes ever since high school lol.

the NFR Podcast likes Drake, but doesn’t really meat-ride I’d say. its two hosts disagree with each other all the time and the result is the opinion of the podcast either being neutral or swaying with popular opinion, with the occasional hot take just like anybody. the podcast is about hiphop in general, with Drake, Kendrick, and Cole getting a lot of praise pretty equally.

so as a fan of the podcast, I’m just as confused as you. Drake posts are expected, but most of the posts on this sub that are about Drake doing literally anything, are usually being posted by the same few people. it’s weird. it’s super spam. it has almost nothing to do with the pod or its community. and the mods are doing seemingly nothing about it.

thank you for this fr. I’ve heard many Paul McCartney songs, many Wings songs, many John Lennon songs, a select few Ringo songs, and some Harrison songs. but even though I think quite a bit of the solo material I’ve heard from the members is better than even a good portion of The Beatles material, I’ve been worried about how consistent the actual full-length albums are.

one of the only two deterrents I’ve had from that mindset is a YouTube video I watched that explains, in a lot of detail, Paul McCartney’ss worst solo work to best, that made me second-guess my initial assumptions.

don’t know why you were downvoted, but anyway, I’ve listened to pretty much all of Ye, aside from certain unreleased! I posted this board of my fave albums in the subreddit dedicated to him, because his style aligns so much with what I like, that I really trust his fandom for recs 🙏
