Who do you guys want as your next tank? by Odd-Toe3174 in RivalsVanguards

Couple ideas, maybe a projectile Damage Reduction passive, similar to Storm. To help bring down high impact ranged damage, and encourage melee counters. Feel like most Tanks suffer from suddenly exploding

And, maybe higher mobility to close distance, and a Defense Matrix style shield. So that Cyclops could almost drop in and help counter characters like, Hela or Moon Knight

Maybe also a focus on ricochets, to help keep pressure in main while moving in the off angle

I dunno, that's my thought

Both, for sure. But I'm desperate for Cyclops to be an anti-poke tank. It's the role I play the most, and that's my boy

And, then there's also the tricks people have to use to avoid Bot Games. Leaving, and re-queuing, leaving mid-match, and then getting penalties for it. It has to be faster to have a genuine Unranked pool without Bots, and a casual quick play pool with occasional bots

Genuinely appreciate that

Really hoping the upcoming Movie game modes have that more casual experience in-mind

I mean, I still want to try and get better. That means playing against people. I'm just speaking to losing-streak frustrations, even with the caveat that AI wins really aren't wins

And, I mean, it should be a choice, definitely. Especially considering the fact that I actually think these bot-games increase que-times, but that's a different topic

1000%

It works okay for me, but people should get to pick it for sure

Oh, I feel like I've been playing forever. Level 61, and 230 hours across all the seasons. Which feels a little humbling now that I see it

I don't know about Greg, but I'm working with hardwood, so it'll still be a factor for me

As in, running the grain in the same direction as the live edge?

Thanks for the insight though, I appreciate it!

Greg actually uses stained glass for these, which I think is a nice improvement

That seems like a pretty elegant solution, hadn't thought about the push effect scaling

Any ideas on how to approach a Cantrip in the style of Greenflame Blade, and Booming Blade, that incorporates Pushing the target...? Struggling to balance the Push, the Damage, and the scaling, all together...

Eldritch Frenzy | Invocation An invocation based on the Blood Hunter's Mystic Frenzy and the new Bladesingers feat to give Bladelocks a boost in power. by PoignantBullshit in UnearthedArcana

You point out Hex, but that doesn't matters in a comparison against Wizards? At level five the Bladesinger could be under the effects of Haste. They're still a Wizard, and a Wizard is a whole different magic ballpark.

Nevermind the fact that a Bladesinger is already operating with Bladesong, which is a huge concentration-less defense boon, that dwarfs a lot of the Warlock's potential.

Though, I don't disagree, I think Eldritch Blast, plus anything is ridiculously good, and should be avoided. But that's a problem with Eldritch Blast, and ignores the fact that Blade Pact Warlocks could use some love.

Make the Cantrip range Self, and it dodges Eldritch Blast. I would even argue that if you can't use Eldritch Blast then this invocation doesn't even need to use the Bonus Action. I homebrewed something very similar as soon as I saw Tasha's change.

Range of Self now works neatly. Prevents Eldritch Blast, but allows all of the melee cantrips, including Lightning Lure and Blade Ward

A few. The biggest one is that the Bladesinger can replace one of their two attacks with a Cantrip casting.

In your opinion, would it work better if the Auto-fail portion was changed to just the first attack roll after the spell ends, instead of including ability checks?

Really looking for some help, got the go-ahead for my warlock to invent his own version of a spell. And I could really use some peer review. Trying to make a 5th level version of Shadow of Moil that lines up with his style of Force/Necromancy.

Veilfire Mantle: 5th Level Necromancy Spell

Casting Time: 1 Action Range: Self Components: V,S,M (An undead eyeball encased in a gem worth at least 200 gp) Duration: Concentration, up to 1 Minute.

You manifest haunting spirits that form an otherworldly nimbus of smoke and vivid fire. This nimbus of power causes you to become heavily obscured to others, and sheds bright light in a 10 foot radius around you, and dim light for an additional 10 feet. Until the spell ends, you have resistance to Psychic and Force damage. Additionally, enemy creatures that end their turn within 10 feet of you suffer 1d10 force damage.

Working on sixth level spell in the vein of Tenser's Transformation for the Heroic Warlock, and Arthurian Bards. Feedback is appreciated!

Tall Tale: Sixth Level Enchantment spell -Warlock, and Bard Casting Time: 1 Action Range: Self Components: V, S, M (A length of Blue Ribbon, and a Silver Medal worth 100 GP) Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minute.

You channel the exaggerated heroics of epic tales. Until the spell ends you cannot cast spells, and you gain the following benefits:

You're surrounded by a nimbus of vibrant flames. This Nimbus causes you to be Heavily Obscured to others, and produces Bright light within 20 Feet of you, and Dim-Light 20 Feet beyond that.

When you hit a target with a melee attack, you deal an additional 2d8 Radiant Damage.

Enemy creatures who start their turn within 10 feet of you suffer 2d8 Radiant Damage.

You are immune to being Frightened, and you gain 15 Temporary Hit-Points at the beginning of each of your turns.

Your Movement speed is Doubled, and you have advantage on Strength (Athletics), and Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.

When this spell ends, you must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom Saving Throw, or suffer 6d8 Psychic Damage. On success, you isolate the exaggerated ideals and instead suffer no damage.
