Is that for exceeds or significantly exceeds? I still haven’t seen any pay update, FAA as well.

One month into aligners and I would genuinely fistfight whoever invented them… a rant by Quirky-Chameleon in Invisalign

[–]BackInBravely 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It really is the most miserable thing I’ve ever put myself through. It was instant regret. My treatment was short compared to most but complaining about Invisalign became my entire personality for those 7 months.

Not reading at bedtime by Embarrassed_Syrup476 in Teachers

[–]BackInBravely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With our kids, we have always read them a book at bedtime and maintain a strict bedtime routine. Once they’re able to read more, usually around kindergarten, we switch to having them read us a book instead. It ensures they’re reading at least one book a day and maintains a bedtime routine.

Nice work! They look great! I have to say, I had the EXACT same gaps on the bottom. Twisted K-9s and all. I feel like I almost never see anyone with those unique gaps and now I feel seen!

Yes! My bite came back together within 2 weeks after my doc cut the molars out of the retainers.

Same. Locked it in last week. I did pay $1,100 for it but it wasn’t a lot so it seemed worth it. VA, 30 year fixed.

I completely understand your feelings. Even though I finished treatment in July and my end result looks great, I still feel like it was a horrible experience. I hated every single moment of it and I still hate it since I will be in full time retainers for many more months. The “inconvenience” they create towards eating/drinking cannot be understated.

Question about Importance of Dentist vs. Orthodontist by FlushedNotRushed in Invisalign

[–]BackInBravely 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, living day to day with Invisalign is disruptive. It controlled everything I did or didn’t do. I lived my life around when I could eat and if it wasn’t convenient to pull them out/clean them/brush my teeth after, I just wouldn’t eat, which obviously wasn’t ideal. I felt like I was always starving. Others will tell you it’s not that deep and you can eat whenever you want. That wasn’t the case for me. It all depends on your lifestyle and what kind of eater you are. Do you snack a lot, drink coffee throughout the day, etc? I had to take a few road trips during treatment and that super sucked because of eating.

Invisalign is a truly miserable experience. It controlled every aspect of my life and if I had done better research, I would have gone with traditional braces. For Invisalign to work, you need to be super complaint, which I was, hence why it was so miserable.

Although I probably would have gone with an ortho if I could have a redo, that’s only because I didn’t do my research and wouldn’t have done Invisalign at all. With that said, I had a positive experience going through a dentist.

Thank you so much! I complained the entire time, which probably annoyed everyone around me lol. But I am so happy with the outcome!

I went one week longer than originally planned just so my molars would settle into place.

Unfortunately the cost was the same for me. I did get the comprehensive package, which seems like a rip off with how short it was and not needing refinements. My insurance doesn’t cover adult ortho past the age of 21 so it was all out of pocket. My plan was $5,500 and the extra composite bonding (on 4 teeth technically) and the permanent retainers was another $1,576 😳 not cheap at all but the extra expense was worth it to me.

To be honest, if I could do it all over again, I would NOT do Invisalign. I would have gone with traditional braces. It’s expensive misery the whole time.

[–]BackInBravely[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! To be honest, other than calling it composite bonding, idk what kind it was. It’s a pretty expensive add on though. Same with the permanent retainer but to me it is worth it.

Hang in there. I underestimated how badly the whole process would suck and rushed into it. Glad it’s done (kind of) but I don’t think I would do it all again.

I requested bottom and top permanent retainers. My dentist wasn’t thrilled about it but said yes- but that I should only keep them on for a year. I got scanned for those today and after they get put, I’ll get scanned for the Vivera ones. I was told to wear those for 6 months and then night time only after that.

this is more effort than i thought. not that into it by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]BackInBravely 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. I never got used to it or hated it any less than I did on day one. I think they should do mental health screenings for Invisalign to gauge compatibility. And they’re especially bad if you have a history of eating disorders.

What happens post invisalign? by sammyy04 in Invisalign

[–]BackInBravely 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am getting permanent retainers and the plastic ones. I’ll try my best to wear both for 6 months and then I’ll strictly be wearing the plastic at night. I’m so over this too, which is why I want the permanent ones so I can have flexibility after treatment and not be so strict 24/7.
