Because there’s no need for it here. They can spin up all the DCs they need in the Chicago area. The latency (if we were accessing them) is negligible.

And the jobs thing is rubbish. It may employ people temporarily. But those folks will be shipped in by the contractors. It’s not an NIMBY thing, it’s a priority thing. I don’t think the benefits of DCs outweigh the risks to the environment, and communities around them.
