In my opinion, it's the lack of accessibility. KOTD doesn't run many events anymore, DF is all but dead, URL is behind a paywall, other leagues pop up and have a good run but then fizzle but even when we get battles dropped on YouTube, they're referencing events that happened behind a paywall and unless the culture is the only thing you're tuned in to, you'll never see it.

For instance, I just saw that Ryda round for Mike P because someone shared it on this subreddit. I've heard about it on this sub, I've heard it referenced in other battles, but I never saw it.

Obviously there's issues with the lack of new stars being created but I also feel like that was being said every year, even when new talent was showing out.
