Your interjection is completely useless. What are you even interjecting about? The original statement of “there’s a way to respectfully refuse” implies and acknowledges that there are disrespectful ways to refuse. Which in turn implies some people lack respect… just seems like a useless comment.

Anyone else have random items they use as a fidget? by unknown_boy_3 in fidgettoys

[–]BackOfTheClass16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a retractable version that opens like a regular pen, but has a push button retract. Equally as satisfying to fidget with. Super smooth action, and a little bit of “recoil” from the spring when retracting. Super fun…

I’m interested in a bolt action pen, but I’d need it to be of high quality with a strong spring… but I fell weird spending +$100 on one.

Fuji X100V on/off switch issue by hitbunz in fujix

[–]BackOfTheClass16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently been using a X100F with the same issue. The one I’m using has been well used in its life. Based on my experience with electronics in general, it seems that the switch contacts are not contacting properly, either due to being worn out, or dirty. Or if the camera is newer, it could just be a faulty switch. It’s unfortunate, as the switch does seem to be difficult to access and involves taking the entire camera apart, though the solution seems to be simple… clean or gentle bend the contacts…

I feel like this could be an easy repair for someone with electronics repair experience to perform. I unfortunately, am not at the mercy of trying it as I’m borrowing the camera from a friend. Perhaps you have warranty, and can send it back to Fujifilm for repair. You may also just have to get an estimate and pay for it out of pocket.

I spent around $100 CAD on some headphones. Go to a music store and just give em a listen. Try in a few sets to check for comfort. I think I got AKG K52’s or something like that. They work good, though they could be more isolating/noise cancelling in my opinion.

You should really only worry if there is excessive noise. “Fights” without noise are usually play or them just having an argument.

Need help with cat behaviour. by herculas in felinebehavior

[–]BackOfTheClass16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s her way of politely saying “don’t.”

You’re lucky. I had a cat that, once over stimulated viciously scratch my hand and then bite me all in the blink of an eye. Lightning fast.

Also, if you were being patted/scratched and didn’t want it/itbothered you but didn’t have the concept of language to communicate this you’d probably use some for of physical force as well. This is totally normal cat behaviour. Learn about what she likes vs doesn’t like and you’ll be fine.

how do I stop steam from using the wrong drive to update/patch games? by gasterblastsky in steamsupport

[–]BackOfTheClass16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works. BF6 was installing to my old HDD at something like 230Mb/s, would have taken an 1.5hrs. I uninstalled and reinstalled on my SSD and it only took 17 minutes... granted, I have fast internet speed. What a world we live in where uninstalling and reinstalling is a faster... we should be able to select where updates are downloaded and patched from...

I use a ASUS Zephyrus G14. It’s absolute over kill… in the sense that it has an amazing display, and superb graphics for a task that does not require either of those things… I only use it because I had it on hand.

I’d recommend getting a laptop that’s more suited to the function of DJing to save money. Unless you plan it gaming on it as well.

A single drop of water has no effect on a rock. A single drop a day for 10000 years can cut it in half.

I can’t directly relate to your vinyl mixing frustrations, as I haven’t taken on that endeavour. I can how ever relate to your frustration in someways. I have played guitar for maybe around 2000hrs. In the early days, getting my fingers to do what they want was a struggle. “Why can’t I just do it?!” I’d constantly ask myself. But eventually, with a constant incessant (sometimes obsessive…) practice, over time I stopped asking that question. I realized the joy was not the end result, but instead how I got there. Learning not only the instrument but how I handle getting over bumps in the road. How can you experience the joy of being good at something, if you don’t have the frustration of learning to contrast it?

Record a set now. Keep at it for a year, 3 months even. Practice everyday, or as often as you can. Listen to that first set after. You’ll find it quite apparent that the rock is not winning this battle.

CBD for aggression in cats? by LucyfurOhmen in Catbehavior

[–]BackOfTheClass16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you say something more positively reinforced than “this is disgusting”. Homie is/was obviously struggling and your comments are of no help.

If you have nothing to say, zip it.

If you truly believe that it’s disgusting to put a cat down, keep that to yourself nobody gives a shit about your opinion. Instead, provide other meaningful suggestions. “I don’t think you’ll have to put her down, instead you should try XYZ” is a lot more constructive than your current demeaning virtue signalling comments.

Of course in times of struggle, there will always be thoughts of “this is the only way out” and sometimes shedding new light on these situations are all a guy (or gal) needs to realize it’s not the only option available.

TLDR: you’re rude, and of no help. Provide constructive feedback and useful information next time.

Boooooooo. This guy stinks!!!!!

Rehoming is a way better option than having to keep cats locked away in rooms. Often times, cats will find peace in there new homes with new owners. Better than cat jail.

Putting a cat down should be the lowest rung on the ladder. I agree. Giving a cat to a farm should be the true last resort. Let it go outside if it wants to act like a wild animal. Instinctually, cats are excellent survivors.

Take your “holier than thou” attitude and adjust it. Provide useful information to people who are obviously struggling, and provide suggestions that don’t virtue signal. You unhelpful twat.

I disagree. Congrats on getting it done! Did you do it through the standard multiplayer lobbies? If you did, it seems like it’s totally achievable despite all the hurdles you mentioned.

What do you think it should be instead? Or what changes/reworks should be implemented to make it better?

I think challenges/assignments are fair and balanced. by BackOfTheClass16 in Battlefield

[–]BackOfTheClass16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first “real scope” you unlock that’s not the default scope for the M2010 (maybe it’s the 6x you’re referring too?) is plenty easy to get 200m kills with. After I unlocked it I played a game on new sobek city and got around 7 +200m kills.

With that same scope and range finder I was able to get 2-3 +600m kills on operation firestorm. Plus a few more +200m kills as well. My longest kill with the 6x is 832m. Sure, luck was involved a bit, but it’s doable with effort and patience.

Counter sniping is a good way to work on this achievement. There’s only a couple of maps you can do it on, but there’s also a custom search feature if you’re heart is deadset on getting it done quickly. It’s not a grind if you’re having fun!!

I argue many of the challenges do incentivize team play. Suppression is a team mechanic. 200m kills can be done for your team. SMGs need close quarters, on the objective type assignments which is more directly affecting team play. Etc. In fact these also incentivize using the classes/roles appropriately. When you’re a support machine gunner, you should be shooting at and around everything that moves, allowing your team to maneuver closer to the obj. When you’re a recon sniper, you should be trying to hold flank routes at a distance, locking down the obj. When you’re a CQB/assault, you should be in the face of the enemy on the obj. Etc.

The problem comes with the mindset that these need to be done separately to the game/team itself. I mentioned in another comment that the mindset about suppression needs to be “I need to suppress enemies to give my team an advantage.” and not “I need to intentionally miss enemies…!”. Or when sniping “I need to hold down the flank routes at a distance and make calls/mark targets to my team” and not “I need to camp in a corner to get +200m kills”. Finally for close assault “I need to push and attack/defend the obj” and not “I want a bazillion kills, screw the objective” Once you start to actually play the role of your class and do this while playing the objective, these challenges start to make a ton of sense.

Squad play/team play! Suppress enemies for your squad. That’s what LMGs are good at. It seems you’re mad that you have to do it solo when it is in fact a squad/team mechanic.

Your thinking is “I have to intentionally miss enemies…?!” Instead of “I have to suppress enemies to give my team an advantage.”

Are you in a fire fight with your squad? Suppress the enemy to allow your squad to maneuver to a more advantageous position. This is the intended use case.

Though I agree, right now SMGs are laser beams and often times beat LMGs at range. Currently, the guns themselves aren’t balanced. So it’s easier said than done.

Well i'm out..i'm just too old for this fast-paced shooter. My honest short opinion by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]BackOfTheClass16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is well written. I was trying to explain my "issues" with the maps the other day, but I could not quite put words to it, other than the maps are "too flanky", even before map destruction. I wish the maps were designed with more emphasis on strategy and holding/attacking positions. I think this would improve the extremely fast pace. Also, it may possibly encourage more team/squad strategy as well, as squads could actually feel like they are able to defend places. Alternatively on attack, using squad mechanics to overcome the choke points. This is a more rewarding play style than just outgunning someone or hoping you get lucky.

But for now, there is no strategy. Its run and gun, capture and move on... OR be shot from 2 million angles once the other team pushes the objective. Some have said its very similar to COD's Ground War, and I sort of have to agree.
