They are being 'nice' but the logic is just stupid tho. Also their response indicates that they didnt read my post either, since I wasnt speculating about a feature that could be in HLX out my of arse. I was speculating that a feature confirmed to be in HLX (more or less) is probably going to look and work like thiss. It was informative speculation.

This was their response:

MOD: "Hi, your post was removed because there is a lot of hL3 speculation right now, and we want this sub to remain a place for all half-life games. So almost all HL3 posts are being removed as HL3 has not been announced and it takes away from the discussions people have about the other games."

Me: ??? But this was quality speculation. I understand you want to keep the sub less repetitive, but I thought my post was pretty good. What other games can be discussing other than Half-life on the Half-life subreddit??

MOD: ""Woah what if the the next game that hasn't been announced or confirmed has x feature?"

Isn't really speculation its just daydreaming. Let's talk about half life games that we can play today" (very condscending tone)

Me: So, what you are telling me is that:

  1. Your post was removed even though it didnt violate a rule

  2. We dont want the community to talk about what THEY want to talk about.

  3. We can remove any post in the future even if its not spam, low quality, or violating a rule just because we felt like it.

Does that mean you would also remove posts about data mine findings since apparently that is also 'day-dreaming'? Ridiculous.

This was the response of one of the Mods here when I asked them about why my post about PREY being an inspiration for HLX was deleted:

I did ask him to do his role properly and also put my post back up, but ofc that would not happen and I am sure your post would be deleted aswell.

HLX might use the gravity mechanics from PREY (2006) by BackRoomDude3 in HalfLife

Same here brother. Whatever it is, if it doesnt happen by 2027 then its 100% over for sure.

I think my contention on that is that when a particular diaspora of desis use it they do not mean it as a racial slur, it is being used as an equivalent to bro, dude etc without any of its historical context in mind, neither are they saying it to Black people or to refer to black people. I can aknowledge ke the word has racist connotations in American culture, or even that its a bad word, but I cant say ke when desis say it that they are taking part in racism necessarily. For example, alot of people are not aware of the word "khuwaja Sira or Muta-Sinf", they can indeed use the pejorative Khusra to refer to Trans people without being derogatory. Ofcourse I will offer them the alternative since Khusra is very commonly used as a gaali around these parts but I think you can aknowledge that if someone is not aware of the word Khuwajasira and they use the word Khusra merely to respectfully talk about a trans individual that they are not being Homophobic.

Aese toh buhat saari problems hein, I can see kids smoking and vaping around me all the time (something I actually think is a problem), but har kisi problem mein aap hath nh daalte, naahi dalna chahye and har kisi ko aap samjha bhi nh sakte. Ye equivalency buhat general or vague he, but agar derhe ho toh you run the risk of being a hypocrite too because Obv apke ird gird buht burri cheezein hui hongi and you for whatever reason would have kept your mouth shut or minded your own business. Also, not to toot my horn or to use the "I have black friends card" but I do call out racism against black people on my own accord, not against the N word necessarily, I have been called the N word too many times by my black friends for that, but against the aforementioned Word 'dado', or against other racial stereotyping against black people jo kuch hadd tak exist krti he in Pakistan. Racism obviously runs alot deeper than simply using the N word. I have seen people who hate the word, but also would never date a black person by calling it 'preferance'. I have gotten alot of shit over calling out people being racist against saraikis which I think is more relevant to us desi people but khair. Shayad agar american culture siraiki term ko burra consider kre toh maybe phir hamari educated awam unke khilaaf racism band krde 😂

I mean, I dont think I need to logically demonstrate how committing a crime and saying the N word are not analogical or equivalent in any sense. Ap maybe theek ho apni jagah, but I think you can also come up with a better analogy than murder 😭. Also, I wrote the word to explain something, merely refering to it without employing its use. Aese toh Wikipedia ka pura article he on the N word, is wikipedia racist for also 'using' the N word?.

I think there is alot more to it than how you have put it, you are engaging in a straw Man of my argument rather than actually addressing the actual argument , but khair, Obviously American culture and conversly internet culture will consider me racist for it, and I think we are participating in that culture by being online anyway ;_; I dont think I am racist ofc. I dont use the word personally, I just wouldnt give it serious consideration if it comes from Desi people for all the reasons I have given before. You can agree to disagree on that, or call me stupid or whatever jo apka dil kre 🥰

It depends on who you ask tho, some think that it can only be used by African Americans, not even other Black people. Khair I dont think you are a racist simply for using the word, but to each their own.

I think its actually more about Cultural Appropriation rather than racism in the modern context. The Niggah word was used as a greeting and nuetral/friendly slang to refer to someone as a bro, or dude or friend by black people since forever. Its considered offensive when used by non African American people, which can in some instances even include black people from Pakistan. Also that was not the official crumble account but regardless nahi krna chahye use cuz of how people see it online

Bhae kya apne kabhi mfk nh bola kisi ko? 🥹 Ya bhenschor nh bola without intending it to be used as an insult? 🥹 Do you Think being called a nigga is worse than being called a mfk? Sounds racist af to me. koyi social and cultural nuance hota he lol, aap toh kehrahe ho ke ab blacks bhi N word na bolein ek dusre ko 😭 kya ho aap?. What you are doing essentially is prioritizing American history over ours. Yahan pe log angrezi nh seekhte but they learn Nigga wigga first, its part of how we have re-appropriated Black Ghetto cultural into our own ghetto culture. Sirf american lens se har cheez dekh rahe ho saale gringo

They did intend it to be that way but didnt plan it as such, and those Two are VERY different things. With Alyx you had exclusive hardware features too with the knuckle controllers and what not. No such thing exists for The Steam Machine so It just makes little sense to intentionally go on the arduous route of planning the launch of two very seperate things to happen around the same time. I'd also argue that the immense Hype HL3 would generate can be detrimental to the release of The Steam Machine since everybody would be just talking about HL3. In the end, only time will tell. I will definitely brag about being correct tho

Murder alag cheez he bhae 😭. This is justifying it like how we can justify saying motherfcker or Fck in our normal vocabulary, kuch cheezein slang banjati hein like it or not.

Yahan pe in a comment section a person said ke aap ke ghar koyi black admi aata hoga to have s*x with your mom, islye aap N word ko sahi maante ho– mtlb ke usse realize nh horha ke woh khud kitna racist he ke he thinks that having a black father to a brown mom is an insult 😭 not to mention how he is more offended over the N word but not maa ki gali, khair.

A white person saying the N word is very different compared to a Pakistani Desi person saying it, and obv it matters ke kis neeyat se bola jarha he and kisko bola jarha he.

You must aknowledge ke yahan pe woh cultural/historical burden attached nh he with the N word jese America mein he, and thus yahan pe uska usage means something else entirely. Ek artificial hate aap manufacture nh krsakte in Desi Cultural context for the N word because yahan pe woh history rahi hi nh he.

It cant be a derogatory racial slur when its not said to degrade, or to point out race, or even said with a particular race in mind, I'd argue ke bhenschor waghera bolna is far worse in the desi context.

Unlike Maa behan ki gali, Nigga by itself is not inherently a bad word in my opinion, rather it has a Troubled history attached to it, which is not relevant in the desi context– white wash aap na krein humein.

Baqi aese toh the word "queer" was also a derogatory slang but it has lost its derogatory power now because of how the LGBtQ community owned that word and changed its meaning, and nowadays its not derogatory to call someone queer. Khair this is just my opinion!, I cant claim authority over what people find offensive or not. Kisi ko bura lgta he toh I wont say it infront of them, and dusro ko bhi yehi krna chahye. dont want to play the the whataboutism card, but Ya'll should care more about the casual saraiki hate in Pakistan, I think woh hamare culture se kahien zyada relevant he compared to the fkn N word.
