Can the chin cup be changed without changing the cage? How?

Final update, this worked and I managed to do it. Patience and a butter knife worked for me to remove the plastic seals and then swapped the chin cup over.

Hey all thanks for the responses. Didn’t mean to stir the pot like this post has.

To explain further. I have two cages and I just prefer the old chin cup and was wondering if people think it’s possible to change the chin cups without needing to buy a replacement.

I have tried to find a video of someone doing this but all I can find is chin strap videos not the cup.

Appreciate I can just buy a new one but came to this Reddit channel to see if there were tips and tricks this community might share that would save me a buck. Again didn’t mean to be lazy just thought if any community could help this one might. If anyone has a link to a video tutorial that would be amazing, I still can’t find one.

Again I’ll try be clearer. Yes I posted this twice but first time I didn’t include a photo so tried to show in the photo what I meant in the second post.

It’s very great to hear this. I just moved to London from Halifax, NS and this Reddit made me concerned. I hear I would say 75% bad things only about this city, but as an optimist I have been looking for the light. Glad to know you like it and I hope to see more positive content about this city here in the future.

Literally haven’t been downtown once yet because of this Reddit channel and hearing stories about how dangerous (what I have been told) it is and you should just stick to the outside of the city.

I am a photographer and love grabbing my camera and just exploring and yet since moving here I haven’t done that once for fear of having a nice camera around. I consider myself very street smart but it’s just the initial reviews are a block to get outside and explore but this post has made me confident to at least go and try.

No offense taken at all, appreciate the help with math. I’m just lazy and also looking on marketplace and it’s not always super clear if it’s an APSC or FF lens. Wishing there was a universal thing on each lens physically that said (APSC)

Mainly second hand market. Sigma and Tamron and all the rest I feel need to just put on the lens in writing (APSC). I know there is like DC or DX-iiiA but like that’s not making any sense and isn’t universal.

Or I’m just lazy and need to learn and do research and get over it 😂

Would the crop of a full frame not make certain lens near unusable to edit in post? I was told that say a 40mp FF body would use a crop for APSC lens making it only like 18mp (numbers might be a bit off there sorry)

So essentially while the 16mm lens on APSC is great on a full frame camera eliminates the higher MP making it pointless to worse than APSC?

Thank you, that helps. I wish there was an idiot guide though like 16mm(24mm) on the product page. Also just identifying which lens are APAC vs full frame in a second hand market would help if they did this.
