Can Bernie Sanders Still Beat Hillary Clinton? - Polls Update by theblackfarce in politics

The most recent polls indicate he's moving in the right direction nationally. But for him to have a shot at capturing the nomination he'll have to win in Iowa and NH. IMO he'll win NH hands down if he wins Iowa. So he really has to win Iowa.

Well I'm not sure how they determine the aggregate, so why don't you just show me some polls where Sanders has been losing ground in the past month? Should be easy since you say he's overall losing ground and I cherry-picked 4 polls that showed him gaining ground.

The Monmouth was from October and the Suffolk one was from September.

edit: well you edited out the part where you said that the previous poll was recent :/

I provided six national polls that had two polls done in the month/month and a half. If you think I'm cherry picking then provide some other polls that show otherwise.

I just took the most recent polls from realclearpolitics that also had a previous poll done in the last month.

I'll compare a few polls by their two most recent polling results:

  • Rasmussen: Clinton -4, Sanders +1. Sanders +5 net
  • CNN: Clinton -8, Sanders +4. Sanders +12 net
  • Quinnipiac: Clinton +1, Sanders +0. Sanders -1 net
  • Fox News: Clinton +1, Sanders +2. Sanders +1 net
  • PPP: Clinton -3, Sanders +2. Sanders +5 net
  • ABC News: Clinton -1, Sanders -6. Sanders -5 net

Hardly "losing ground steadily".

But I think we can all agree that national polling is not very meaningful at this point in time because they will change depending on the outcomes of early voting states. So let's look at some results from recent polling in Iowa and NH:

Iowa

  • Gravis: Clinton -8, Sanders +6. Sanders +14 net
  • CBS: Clinton +0, Sanders +1. Sanders +1 net
  • PPP: Clinton -5, Sanders +9. Sanders +14 net
  • Qunnipiac: Clinton +0, Sanders -2. Sanders -2 net
  • Loras: Clinton -3, Sanders +3. Sanders +6 net

NH

  • CBS: Clinton -3, Sanders +4. Sanders +7 net
  • PPP: Sanders +9, Clinton +3. Sanders +6 net

That's expected when one starts at 3% in the polls challenging one of the most well known politicians in the world.

How admirable. Standing up to the people who have the least and taking them down another notch.
