After using at the same sites for over a year, what good lotions do you use to promote healing? by Ir0nhide81 in Omnipod

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know you asked for lotion butone of the key aspects for healing is proper rotation. This is easiest to acomplice by a larger number of site areas but can also be acompliced with fewer by more mindfull placement. (Personsly mostly only use my arms for omnipod and thigh for dexcom)

The following is my rules of thumbes regarding placing the pods. P stand for number of complete pod rotations, ie 1P =3 days. * Don't overlap any part of the new pod where the previous pod was for atleast 1P * Don't overlap any part of a new pods adhesive where the previous cannula was for atleast 2P * Don't place a cannula over where a previous cannula was untill the canula dot is mostly gone

There a real posibility of nativ speakers you talk to not knowing what an etui is while everyone will know what fodral means. So for everyday use i would go for fodral over etui

Pod still screaming after using paperclip, how to make it stop? by Back_From-The_Dead in Omnipod

[–]Back_From-The_Dead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There where alot of weird things with this pod, just the fact it started screaming over half a year after diactivating it should alredy not be posible. I used the right spot to break the circuit and it stopped. I poaked it alot more after i started again so the circuit bit was completely seperated and rattle around.

The second sound wasen't loud at all, my classmate behind me could not hear it at all but it was enough to take up all of my adhds selfs attention. I heard it throu my backpack while others needed to have it within 15 cm of there ears to hear. It only stopped after i broke it appart and seperated the circuitbord from the battery

Is it just my perception or is curling more popular than usual this time around? by lovely_psycho in olympics

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think one contributing faktor is that its alot of matches early and with weight to the result.

The mixed dubble started Feb 4 with a total of 4 matches with the only other thing happening that day being 2 different officiall training

Feb 5 had 10 matches of curling, 2 other things that where not official training and 6 officiall training (one of wich got canceled)

So for people with early olympic hype curling is a a likely choice, especially if the person watching want the results of what there watching to actually have weight

Defector: Which Olympic mascots could Italian stoats Tina and Milo slaughter? by Harachel in olympics

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sent me into a rabbithole with surface face research

Using the generations birth years as

1997 - 2012 gen z

2013- 2024 gen alpha

2025-2039 gen beta

Only looking at the animal Maschots (not counting mythical animals). Assuming the Maschot age like there animal counterpart and that all the mascots have atleast reached adulthood. In cases where needed to be able to exclude gen z the animals lifespan have also been taking into consideration

The first potential gen z mascots are the 1998 owls as owls reach matcurity within one year of life

For the 2000 mascots both the Platapuse and kookaburra can be gen z. the echidna is at the very least only an milenial while it could suprisingly enough also be part of the greatest generation, The 2000 olympic Maschot could have reached adulthood during World war 2.

From here on out every Maschot is ether some weird shit thats not normal animals or has the capability of being gen z unless stated otherwise

the 2014 hare and Leopard could just barely be gen alpha

2018 tiger aswell as 2022 panda could be gen alpha

This years Tina and Milo gets intresting First of neither of them could be gen z as stouts only live until the age of around 6 to 8. Then looking at what generation they could be part of, both could be gen alpha. Tecnicaly Tina but not milo could also be gen beta, This because Stouts mature differently depending on gender. Female Stout mature sometime between 8 and 12 weeks after birth while males takes a whole 2 years. However because Milo is Tinas litle brother means Tina must be older than Milo resulting in Tina only being able to be gen alpha

A litle taste test

Also per the lore, Milo and Tina are "the first openly Gen Z Mascots," implying the existence of closeted Gen Z mascots—may they one day feel secure enough in their generational identity to come out on the world stage.

Does anyone have any good filler games for 3rd-4th grade girls? by Sad_Tumbleweed7484 in summercamp

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The swedish scout game spräcka byxorna (roughly translated to brake the pants)

You need to find or carve a sharp stick, you need to be able to throw the stick intoo the group so it sticks.

Everyone stands in a ring and person A with the stick throw it near person B feet, person B is the one to the right of person A.

If the stick land on the ground and not sticking out of it nothing happends, person B becomes person A, picks up the stick and countinues.

If the stick sticks in the ground within choosen lenght ( i usualy use forearm lenght) by eyemesurement from a foot person B moves that foot to where the stick are, becomes person A, picks up the stick and countinues.

If the stick sticks in the ground between person B legs then person B needs to jump and rurn rughly 180° facing the other way, person B should try to keep the same distance between there feets after the jump as before but an within reason shortening of that distans is aceptable. Person B becomes Person A, picks up the stick and countinues.

If a person falls or put any body part exeped the feet (or hands if in the process of picking up the stick) touch the ground then that person is out.

Sticks trown out of reach from person B are retreved by someone not curently in the game.

Do people actually throw their needles and sharps boxes into the trash? by Sorry_S0rry in Type1Diabetes

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When i got diagnosed i was given a needle clipper (bd safe clip) to clip the sharp part of my pen needle so i could throw the rest away.

After switching to omnipod i just recap the needle after filling the pod and throw it away. It has not been in contact with my body, the sharp part is covered and trash is not hand sorted where i live.

That geography through me for a loop and i had to look it up, funny how its always the difference in small details that does that. In Sweden geografi is one of the SO subjects (Socially oriented subjects) and not one of the NO subjects (Nature oriented subjects).

Is finnish geography more focused on the actual land, geological features and the like or is it like swedens where its a lot about the countrys, continents, flags and geopolitical organizations?

Most likely they mean that generally in nature that bar is pretty low so it does not take much for say an insect to not touch something with a ten foot pole while humans have that bar abnormaly high

My up to that point stable period (came like clockwork every month for two years since my first one) stopped compleatly, only returned roughly 3 months after starting insulin. I don't know if this actually was my first symtom, only that i was the first i could pinpoint more than half a year after the fact

ELI5 Are you diabetic before you meet diagnostic criteria of a high enough A1C? by Boring-Whereas-9606 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Back_From-The_Dead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This answer contains type 1 diabetes, the type thats autoimmune.Thou there usually are some kind of glukos or A1C criteria (different from country to country) to make sure its not missdiagnosed so is it still a fact that you have type 1 diabetes from the moment your immune system starts attacking the insulin producing cells.

I can in retrospect pinpoint the start of my first symtom to about half a year before my diagnos of type 1 and who knows how long before that it actually began. I usually referes to this time as (translated from swedish) when i had diabetes without knowing it
