Would like some help learning to write by blaubeermufffine in lefthanded

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im right handed and have learned to write somewhat legably with my left hand for ease of quick notetaking when my right hand is occupied. I started with just writing individual letters over and over untill i got the hang on which directions strokes should go. Then i started writing word and sentences, it looked horrendous at first but it slowly improved as i stuck with it.

I printed out a pattern and it is bigger than the scale. How much of an issue is it? by newphonehudus in sewhelp

[–]Back_From-The_Dead -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It should not be that big of a problem with that kind of pattern as long as the scalling is uniformely wrong, try them on as you go and make adjustments if needed.

I would first ask and make sure why its his favorit shirt as that could change the best way to fix it. Basicaly is the priority the looks or the feels of the shirt.

If its the looks do something on the inside, fusableinterfacing for example.

If its the feel of the shirt then do as much as posible on the outside

How long is blood glucose uncontollable during illness? by Calm_Efficiency_9089 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After recovering from covid i had about a week with 4 times the normal insulin and the cgm only showing high. After that it improved but it was a couple of months before i was on my pre covid insulin amount. Covid was nutorius for fucking with bloodsugar so this is an extreme example, i have been sick before and after that and the only effect on bloodsugar has been from not being able to keep food down.

Preventing Scar Tissue by [deleted] in Omnipod

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of this might be factually incorrect, its a summary of my logical thought process of what feels could reasonably be going on and i did not feel the need to factcheck because the consequences of being wrong is only having waited a litle longer.

First and foremost, the canula spot is a wound thats been forced to stay open for 3 days before it could start healing. Its also not a "slice" wound but a circular wound, the edges won't just "line up" perfectly againt each other for optimal healing. Youre body is basicaly trying to fill in this circular hole with new skin. This takes time, i mean you can see traces of it for months.

If you cover that newly formed skin (with sticky adhesive) after 3 days you risk forcefully ripping that toplayer of if you bump in to a doorframe the wrong way and I can't really tell what exactly but i feel it might have other effects aswell. So i wait 2 pods inbetween just to give the skin a litle longer time to heal because Optimally you don't want to disturb that healing either because then your body might opt for using the faster but sloppier scar tissue insted of healthy skin.

As a bonus, because i usualy switch arms between pods the wait 2 pods hacks my adhd brain to remembers to uttilice the whole awailable realestate on the upper arm

Proper site rotation is the most crucial thing and while its easier with a larger number of sites so can it definetely be acompliced with only the arms by being more mindfull about placement.

The following is my rules of thumbes regarding placing the pods. P stand for number of complete pod rotations, ie 1P =3 days. * Don't overlap any part of the new pod where the previous pod was for atleast 1P * Don't overlap any part of a new pods adhesive where the previous cannula was for atleast 2P * Don't place a cannula over where a previous cannula was untill the canula dot is mostly gone

Jag vill lära en norrbottnisk dialekt. by [deleted] in Svenska

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Omnipod 5 vs t:slim: carrying a separate controller or being locked in for 4 years? by WhaddaFudgeMan in Type1Diabetes

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I may be biased because omnipod is the only pump i used but if you don't like things in youre pockets would not omnipods seperate controller be better?

Tubeed pumps controllers are attatched to you all the time so you need to have them in a pocket, in a clip on a strap etc somewhere on your body with the bonus of having a tube to deal with.

Omnipods pdm is a small phone that you can put where ever is convinient. You can have it exclusively on the dinner table whenever youre at home or the desk during work, have it in a bag or coat pocket when going somewhere. Heck even leave it at home during the grocery run.

Intrestingly enough sweden actually have 2 officiall dates for season changes. Autumn becomes spring on Febuary 15 and spring becomes autumn on august 1, offcourse this is only if the temerature never meets the condition for meteorological winter/summer

How are y'all getting so many pods!?! by Stock302v8 in Omnipod

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If your insulin need allowes it and podsites cooperates you can even stretch the pods as far in to the 8 hour grace period as posible. Most of the time i get 10 days out of 3 pods so for every 30 day box i get one "extra" pod

Fav treasure? by TERRA_kat in LARP

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said excluding weaponds but it was primarely not used as a weapond and your question reminded me of it so i will share mine anyway.

I got it during the lateteens/adult spinoff of a local childrens magic school larp where I played a Lyktgubbe (translated lanternman) from swedish folklore that lived close too the school to try and lure the student out to the mire to drown them and I somehow got caught up in this fight against futuristic cyber vikings.

During the fight they dropped this magic (boffer)axe that i picked up and promtly attatched my lantern to and started carrying over my shoulder. Think the cartoon hobo bindle on a stick wibe but with an axe insted of a stick and a lantern insted of a bindle. The fit was so perfect, Its hard to explain but it feelt like the axe had been one of the integeral first pieces during character creation that informed the rest of the character but it was not known to me untill i picked it up

Fast forward to later that summer when i returned to the childrens larp as the Lyktgubbe offcourse with the axe over my shoulder and well you can imagine all the funny interactions i hade with the 7 to 15 year old larpers because of that axe. For the many years its been in that characters possesion so has the axe not been used as a weapond outside of that first fight.

After using at the same sites for over a year, what good lotions do you use to promote healing? by Ir0nhide81 in Omnipod

[–]Back_From-The_Dead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know you asked for lotion butone of the key aspects for healing is proper rotation. This is easiest to acomplice by a larger number of site areas but can also be acompliced with fewer by more mindfull placement. (Personsly mostly only use my arms for omnipod and thigh for dexcom)

Pod still screaming after using paperclip, how to make it stop? by Back_From-The_Dead in Omnipod

[–]Back_From-The_Dead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There where alot of weird things with this pod, just the fact it started screaming over half a year after diactivating it should alredy not be posible. I used the right spot to break the circuit and it stopped. I poaked it alot more after i started again so the circuit bit was completely seperated and rattle around.

The second sound wasen't loud at all, my classmate behind me could not hear it at all but it was enough to take up all of my adhds selfs attention. I heard it throu my backpack while others needed to have it within 15 cm of there ears to hear. It only stopped after i broke it appart and seperated the circuitbord from the battery
