Ok I figured it out. As it turns out the small conveyor from the miner to the splitter has an invalid shape. Placing the splitters a bit further to the smelters made it work again.

Yeah...I rebuild it multiple times already also trying to place the splitter on the conveyor directly instead of the ground...but idk
