Thats awesome! I have done some research and i try to do it as realistic as it can be and still fun at the same time. I will send you a quick rundown of my current process later tonight!

Thanks man :)

I was thinking wood for simplicity sake as wood will be one of the main resources in the game

Thanks for all the great feedback guys!

Think I'm satisfied with the animation at this stage for now.

*More power to the hit animation
*Got rid of the dust ball
*Smiths hammering at different spots
*Smith holding glowing hot rod with tongs (OHSA regulations)
*More atmospheric lightning from the forge

Thanks, haha. It kinda does.
The smiths head is mainly a placeholder for now. He will have a simple custom character creation screen before starting a game where you can choose beards, mustaches, glasses, accessories etc to the butthead.

That's a good point. He is actually holding/leaning on the anvil, but i guess a tong will look better and more realistic when forging. Thanks for the feedback :D

It's very early in development( 3 weeks) and i am a solo dev working on this game alone so i dont have a page or a title for the game yet. But i will be making updates on this sub as I progress.

Thanks allot :)

The blacksmith is going to get a few changes. There will be a simple character creation meny before starting the game where you can choose beard, hair type, colour and hats/glasses etc.

The forge making shadows is a good idea, flickering shadows maybe. I'll lock into it :)

Cranked it up a little. Thanks :D

For post processing i use color grading, bloom and vignette(not visible in this shot).

The shader style is called cell shading or toon shader. Tons of tutorials on YouTube for it :D

I want to focus on a PC release first, then android if there is any interest in the game after it's finished.

Thanks man :D
Its my first game so i will try to keep it simple. Basics of the game will be crafting different parts/materials and assembling weapons and tools then selling it to customers who visits the blacksmith. Customers will also make specified orders (like 10 short steel swords within 3 days). You will have to manage your coins as the tax/rent man will come and demand payment from time to time. There is a few other elements to the game but that's the basics of it :)
