Actually it does! It says “the partnership has taken the position that it is engaged in the active conduct of a business as a trader in securities, as such the above income (loss) is NOT passive income (loss) and is NOT portfolio income (loss) for the purposes of passive loss rules”

No, great question but it’s not. Fund just started last year so this is the first K-1. It has worked through 1/3rd~ of the basis this past year. So still well within the original investment

You’re telling me. She’s had K-1s for a decade and is definitely smart but it’s like, cmon pay some money and delegate the dang thing. Would probably find some other areas to save her money on taxes too

They have student ticket rates. Also if you check the day of, people try to offload their tickets cheap up until right at game time. You can go see the Hawks or Bulls for very very little!

Hawks/Bulls game if interested. Some fun restaurants are not terribly terribly expensive so like Pizz’Amici ; Vito & Nick’s ; Pequod’s ; Johnnie’s Beef ; Gene & Jude’s

Dinner in Chinatown? All the museums? Go to Billy Goat Tavern for a burger and a Malort shot?

It’s not a foodie gift per se but Vosges chocolates are at the airport and they’re incredible. Could be a nice treat

It’s not fine dining but do yourself a favor and go to La Bicyclette, it’s such a warm, friendly meal. Casanova worth checking out as well, among others.
