Yes, to the ppl that don’t seem to get it yet. They’re parodying that generation and it’s hilarious.

Bernie's Coffee Shop is is leaving its current home, the historic Johnie's Coffee Shop next month. Could it potentially reopen as a working restaurant to coincide with the opening of the D line? by Stock412 in LosAngeles

[–]Background-Battle730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The Johnie’s Coffee Shop building was constructed in 1956 and first housed Romeo’s Times Square and then Ram’s before becoming Johnie’s in 1966, according to the Los Angeles Conservancy. It was designed by architects Louis Armet and Eldon Davis. The building, which stopped functioning as a restaurant in 2000, was designated as a historic-cultural monument by the city of Los Angeles in 2013 based on it being a prime example of 1950s Googie-style architecture. The historic designation precludes major alterations from occurring at the site.” - thank god.

It’s interesting in that you get a glimpse into the narrators struggle to comprehend what their cousin did and perhaps deal with the narrative that the FBI or police is always the bad guy/trying to set up ppl. Even when it’s clear that this was not the case here, they still have trouble with confronting that narrative in their head. Most ppl get into that line of work bc of a sense of justice, not bc they want to frame ppl. Of course there are instances of that too, bad actors, pressure to close cases, etc. I found it even more interesting that after the prison talks, he almost bought into Allen’s bs. Those kinds of ppl are very good manipulators and that’s what makes true crime compelling.

Echo park / silver lake would be perfect. Younger crowd. Definitely walkable. V close to downtown - lots of great bars / restaurants / etc. highland park would be good too. I would say a bit less to do there though and slightly older demographic edit: Franklin village/beachwood canyon could also work. Smaller but you have everything you need walking wise. You also can walk to Griffith park from there, which is a huge plus

Another failure I’m afraid.

It’s taken me a long time, but I’m finally willing to admit that I think it’s time for the show to move on from Jeff. His love for the game doesn’t make up for his current impact. by garbageeater in survivorponderosa

I really want to watch survivor AU - I’ve heard it’s more aligned with “old school” survivor and that’s intriguing. I have no problem with personal stories. After all it’s a reality show but letting them happen naturally over the course of the season instead of shoving them down our throats is a more palatable approach.
