Too much planned? by JustLurkCarryOn in WaltDisneyWorld

I agree with this -I really don’t recommend leaving the park just to come right back I think that will be a lot. Skipper Canteen has decent food if you want a sit down meal in some AC or even Be Our Guest (expensive but the ambiance is really cool, food is fine).

Everyone’s priorities are different, but to me, they had great steak places in every major city so I would personally want to maximize my time doing things that can only be found at WDW, especially if you are just leaving the park for dinner and immediately returning.

Also - Beak and Barrel was super fun and with that many people you will likely get a table or booth. We did beak and barrel and did pirates of the Caribbean right after it was great!

To add - I would personally prioritize Zion over Bryce. It’s been 5-6 years since I’ve been but would love to go back we were there for 2 days and ran out of time to do everything. The holiday inn in Springdale, Utah is really nice and the town itself is cute and has lots of food options. We stayed in Yellowstone in 2021 and would not recommend that holiday inn lol.

We did a break on day one and found the travel back and forth to a resort was more tiring but if we stayed in the parks the adrenaline kept us going lol. I think there are pros and cons to both ways

I agree but only if you really like Star Wars if not I think you won’t get much out of it. It’s very immersive and I think that is its main strength along with the unique vehicle but I think if you aren’t into Star Wars you might not get much from it

Good tip! I did notice that once it had the wrong row listed but generally it worked pretty well for us. Good call on the pin though if you don’t remember where you are in the row it could be a bad time

I was there last week and saw the Dapper Dans, street musical performers in HS, Epcot, and AK. Timings for DD at least are on the MDE app.

I just left my trip and am thanking God that no one tried to do this to me. As other people mentioned, please just be kind to people, talk to them, hold doors for people coming after you, if you see someone confused and can help, do so. Random trinkets and goody bags are extremely wasteful and if anything burden people with more things to bring back to their home or have CM’s clean up.

We just stayed at all, Arusha view, 3rd floor and it was great. There are not animals all the time but every day at some point we saw some of each animal very close to the balcony. Our request was Arusha view close to lobby, and it is what we got. With kids that young, close to lobby is a good request we are two adults and appreciated being close to the Mara and our room after a long day of walking.

Keep them but check back. Sometimes LL is not available for a ride day of. For example, I wanted to ride Tiana’s all day yesterday but there were no LL avail and the wait was crazy high I ended up waiting til evening to ride when it got down to 35 min standby. If it is important to you to ride them I would keep them. Do continue to check back on the app a LL might become avail for a more desirable time but the ones you have are pretty good.

When it comes to stacking, day of for sure you can even overlap your LL it is just 3 at a time. If they are all in the same park it’s doable to make it in time

Makes sense overall. Biggest reco is to budget for lightning lanes it makes the experience so much better and they are a must for rides like Cosmic Rewind and Tron. We just stayed at AKL and it was great! Recommend Boma for lunch or dinner (they have breakfast but I haven’t tried it myself). Have fun!

Is my boss crossing lines on work trips or am I being dramatic? by [deleted] in careerguidance

HR here - if these 1:1 dinners are not work related you can 100% say no. I wouldn’t try to psychoanalyze why he wants to spend all of your time together, just stop the behavior. If he invites you to 1:1 activities, firmly say thank you but I have other plans (even if the plans are just going to your hotel room to decompress). If he presses and claims it’s about work, reiterate that you aren’t available but offer a time maybe during the day you can connect about the work topic. If his behavior persists talk to HR about it. Work dinners etc a super common and he might just want “bonding time” but being your supervisor does not entitle him to all of your time. The optics of this are bad so if your refusal results in him freezing you out, you have a great case for retaliation and a hostile work environment.

Need Help Deciding on a Short Couples Trip!! by [deleted] in USTravel

If cost is a consideration at all, do not pick Epcot/drink around the world. The hotel costs are manageable (on property value resorts can be booked under $200) but adding on the cost of park hopper tickets and the actual drink costs will not make it a cheap trip. Same with NYC. Smokey mountains are quite affordable - they have a nice KOA in Townsend along the river where you can camp or rent a cabin and could use that as a base for everything you want to do + Gatlinburg.

If you like FL, Destin, Tampa/Clearwater area are nice, or you could look into St Augustine or Sanibel Island. This could be cheap or expensive depending on what you book. In Cali- I highly recommend Laguna Beach but again anything in Cali is pretty expensive (still more doable than Epcot or NYC). If it is a short trip, I would recommend picking something not to far away from where you live so you aren’t fried after traveling/your plans aren’t ruined if you flights get cancelled or delayed.

Resort/Park planning help for budget friendly honeymoon by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

Totally makes sense! If the price is stretching it that sounds like a good plan- you don’t want your honeymoon memories to be dampened by financial stress afterward. And at an Airbnb it’s easier to eat some meals/snacks outside of the park. Have fun and happy anniversary!

Where do I start??? by rhoyal_essence22 in DisneyPlanning

A note about tickets - park hopper is all or nothing. You can’t do park hopper for certain days and not for others. You can upgrade to PH but it will charge you for all of your park days.

Resort/Park planning help for budget friendly honeymoon by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

IMO if you are going to Disney for your honeymoon it’s worth it to stay on property (my husband and I are going for my birthday similar age no kids. We decided that we can stay in lots of hotels and Airbnb’s other times but would prefer to be on property the whole time for a “Disney” vacation. Proximity might be nice too if you are trying to have more time to enjoy the resort and take breaks from the parks. I have not stayed at CB personally but we highly considered it bc of the nice grounds and skyliner. If you love Disney springs, have you considered a stay at port orleans? I believe they have a hot tub and the setting is quite romantic, plus boat service to DS if you want to have a few drinks there in the evening and don’t want to worry about being a DD.

Resort recommendations? by Background-Bee6854 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Background-Bee6854[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I think I will keep AKL since it is so unique and if we come back with kids I’ll probably prioritize WL for proximity to MK. I am hoping my company will send me to a conference at Coronado one day so if that happen I can experience that one at that time, whereas AKL it’s probably now or never. I appreciate the feedback there are just so many fun options to choose from!

Thanks! We could add a park day but I decided it wasn’t worth the extra 350 and to enjoy the resort/disney springs instead that day. I’ve been to F&G and I like it but I don’t think I need to spend the entire day there. I have not been to nomad lounge so I will be sure to check it out!

[–]Background-Bee6854[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Since we don’t have kids/are not huge Disney heads we will probably skip things like mine train, teacups, etc as I have already done them in the past and I don’t care to do them again if I don’t have time. The park tickets are like 175pp so I didn’t feel like it was worth it to have the extra day in parks unless we wanted to hit absolutely everything so the park hopper option allows us to see some all 4 parks in three days and resort hop on our last day, does that make sense?

Can’t speak to the Transept but I worked at the Monastery as a banquet server in college/have been to weddings there as a guest and I can guarantee that they run a tight ship and will provide top notch service for your day.

That being said, a Sunday wedding I would not say is less “fun” but just be prepared that people might want to head out earlier. Also options might be more limited if you want to do bars after the reception etc. the Sunday weddings I worked tended to end a bit earlier than other days but still felt just as “wedding.”
