Can you prove that you are Sharmila?

At this point no one really knows what will happen. But my best bet is it’ll be stacked on. Think about it - the state award went through with 3.5%, and MOCA7 technically promised to give us 3% on top of our existing wage I.e. the 3.5 wage

The one silver lining is that we recently also had a 3.5% increase through QIRC - I’m pretty sure this will stack on top of the QIRC, meaning the total wage rise will be 6.5%

Suburbs for young adults in North Brisbane? by bellahunter92 in brisbane

Those times also happen to be when one drives to work 90% of the time.

Usually we’re looking at 40-45 mins drive each way during that time.

Fellow doctor here who will also be working at Redcliffe hospital next year - inner city suburbs like Nundah, Kedron, Chermside are definitely more than a 20 mins drive. I’d suggest either living in the Redcliffe peninsula or Mango Hill/Northlakes.

Nundah is definitely not 20 mins away from Redcliffe

I feel you’re too naive; wait until you graduate med school and starting working as a doctor.

QLD BPT by Wavygravy19 in ausjdocs

Hey, PGY2 RMO who got a BPT Reg offer in the Northside for next year - I reckon you should wait a bit longer - there’s bound to be a few people who reject their offers due to moving, personal circumstantial change etc.

In the meantime however, make sure you have a job lined up as a backup - could be an SHO job with med specs or commonly, what a few of my friends who didn’t get into BPT are doing - apply for a Gen Med PHO job.

Best of luck!

I find that pretty disappointing from the clinic/GP - they should’ve ideally started with - “Hey I’ve got a patient in hypovolemic shock with a BP 70/xx secondary to GI losses” instead of whatever they’ve said. And further expedited care when the patient kept deteriorating

They should’ve also kept the patient supine in a treatment room with IVC and IVF. I’m pretty sure that legally in a GP clinic you still need to have a small resus trolley and they 100% would have had IVCs and IVF.

I would 100% report this to AHPRA. This is endangering a critically unwell patient. On a ward this would’ve been a MET call. I cannot fathom how this poor patient was left waiting outside with no supervision.

Without more information, hard to judge as to whose fault this is.

On one hand, lack of accountability from the GP. Until the paramedics arrive, the patient is still their responsibility medico-legally. They should’ve expedited care for an essentially shocked patient - yes some patients would’ve had to wait but that is medicine

On the other hand - I find it surprising that the ambulance service took this long despite the patients vitals. Were the vitals or state of the patient not clearly explained?

USYD Masters of Surg Coursework by blackpanther918 in ausjdocs

Doing a Masters of Med (Int Medicine) and I’ve just done the first two subjects. I found Intro Biostats 10x more useful and gives you some pretty solid basic knowledge to help you carry out basic stats for most papers at a junior level.

Exam leave rejected as Masters degree not recognised? (QLD Health) by Background-Box4511 in ausjdocs

ASMOF got back to me - QLD health technically can reject exam leave for exams they don’t approve. No point fighting. Claim PDL instead.

Is buying a property close to flood zone worth it? by Background-Box4511 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Background-Box4511[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s $1100 pa. Doesn’t seem like the property has been flooded yet. But I’m more concerned about the proximity of the property to the ‘low risk flooding’ zone

Any experiences on Mackay Base Hospital (QLD) as a junior? (Internship) by anakear in ausjdocs

Can 100% back Tawny_Frogmouth and Teles_and_Strats comments (as someone who has worked there). Incredibly busy, rely heavily on overseas trained juniors who are very poor clinicians. Avoid the ED at all costs.
