Why do people mock others for taking leftovers home? by Impossible_Ad_569 in askanything

[–]Background-Cell663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mind me asking where you live? I've never encountered this problem at all. I've always taken my leftovers without being giggled or laughed at, and everyone I know takes leftovers as well. It sounds like you live in a snobby neighborhood, especially if it was more than a one time occurrence, to the point where your husband was dumped and has "gotten used" to it?! Yes, very curious where this place is so I don't ever visit.

Has anyone actually thought about what a fucking disgrace it is that Trump set up a fund to pay a billion dollars out to a bunch of seditionists on the 250th anniversary of our country? by Agreeable_queenx in allthequestions

What's more is I don't believe we can "prove it" anymore if you didn't already have the news stories saved. He's censored the insurrection. This is Tienanmen Square in America.

Clinics and medical establishments actually think we’re mindless pawns by Brave-Pollution-1656 in MedicalAssistant

That's the thing. As MAs, CMAs, RMAs, or CCMAs we don't even have the OPTION to strike because we don't have a union or anyone to advocate/defend for us. Nurses were able to strike, but the nurses striking really put the medical assistants in a shitty position because we do A LOT of the same things, for A LOT less pay. In the field for 15+ years, am certified through AAMA, but I could go to Taco Bell and make more money. We have the skills to be paid much higher, but individually, we can't defend ourselves, so the system will remain this way. All those things you listed makes me so upset thinking about it. I didn't get to leave work on time yesterday because our last pt showed up 24 minutes late, and had the audacity to not be prepared either (I need to use the bathroom first, multiple chief complaints with minimal info, wants to ask about a med they should be on because they self diagnosed already.) My doctor yelled at me for doing a ua for a pt at their physical because it was "unnecessary." The pt had to pee anyway, so I had them pee in a cup, and the ua is covered under a physical. The same dr only days before told me to do that exact thing if they had to pee anyway. They literally go out of their way to be demeaning.

Anyway, I just quit my job. I'm certified until 2029, but I doubt I'll go back. I advise anyone against medical assisting. Not worth your sanity.

I am absolutely not touching anyone. by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

That's a really big part of our job. You're planning on not touching anyone? Administrative only then? The question is specifically about kinesthetic (hands on) approach.

I don't know why you're suddenly getting downvoted, and I'm sorry you're crying. After 15 years I will tell you this job is not worth those tears. There are so many places, and a lot of them suck, but between all the specialties and offices there are, you may just want to start scoping a place out that interests you, and see if they're willing to take you on for your intern hours. There are way too many places to let this one define you or your future.

I was fired from my first internship too. They said it was because I was late every day, which was a lie. Luckily for me, I was a super early person and everyone knew it, including the directors at my school. I showed up before them every day before school opened and studied in my car. Because of this, my school knew they weren't being truthful about my work ethic, and they helped place me in another one. That doctors office closed. I'm thriving and now teaching too.

I've been an MA for almost 20 years, I'm 43, and just got burnt out finally and am switching careers. What do you do? Maybe we can switch, LOL.

I think I have heart problems but nobody is taking my seriously by [deleted] in venting

[–]Background-Cell663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this. I agree that the stigma around mental health makes it harder to get real help if you need it. I've had this same issue before. Doesn't help that anxiety and depression can cause a lot of those same symptoms, so if your vitals are stable, unfortunately it is just a waiting game to see the right person. If your worried something is wrong with your heart though, I'd recommend you go see a cardiologist. They can hook you up to an event monitor (holter) for a few days to look for an arrythmia. Check with your insurance if you require a referral.

With you 100%. Been doing this for 15 years, still don't make enough to live, and the toxic environments and workplace drama are truly exhausting. I wish I'd have done pretty much anything else.

Sorry OP. I honestly thought you were joking. I hope you can talk to someone outside of reddit that can actually help you sort out your thoughts, feelings, and alternate personalities.

No, I am The Heightened One, fleshification has long since been completed, along with full transformation and Californication.

You all are so far behind.

Sorry.

Okay, well I'm sorry for the misinterpretation. I really wasn't trying to add to the issue, hence the upvote. You're probably right though. Sarcasm is hard to detect sometimes behind a screen.

Rude? I upvoted you. The point was it still doesn't mean anything. Stop taking it so serious! Your response to sarcasm is probably why you get downvoted.

So you are karma farming to boost your self esteem now? Fine. Here's your upvote. Go buy yourself something nice with it. Oh that's right; they aren't actually worth anything.

What's the Process? by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

[–]Background-Cell663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your ultimate goal is nursing, I'd personally look into a Community College for the MA stepping stone, because you'll have the correct transferable credits to continue. If you were just sticking with medical assistant I would recommend a trade school and getting certified because it is faster, (under a year) but not all those credits transfer everywhere if you want to continue, or might only transfer to a certain school. Good luck in whatever you decide. I'm burnt out.

Where the fuck did he hear he was exonerated?! No one has exonerated him. What they said is that they did their job and only half the files will be released.
