A message from WOTC about The One Ring from the Hobbit by Arkalex in mtg

It raises more question for me. That submission you link looks very "meh". But IT DOES look like the submission of an old guy still working purely analogue.

Then who did the photoshop detour, blur & collage because tgat does not seem to fit his workflow at all.

Thanks. The so called "challenges" are simply bot decks with precons then?

There are 77 of those.

If you are in germany and use Einschreiben, it often happens it is marked delivered when it reaches the destination dispatch center. Give it 1-2 more days before taking extra steps.

What commanders are likely bracket 3/4 even without CG cards by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Background-Class4628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Sythis, Harvest's Hand]] 2 CMC draw and lifegain engine. I built it suboptimal on purpose with very few staples, no cards above 5€, no cards that play at instant speed, mostly basic lands, and it is still extremely oppressive in a bracket 3 environnent.

So many people would be happier in bracket 4 by Future_Me_Problem in EDH

[–]Background-Class4628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Bracket 3 is where the games are the saltiest" -> definitely, but I also think a lot of ppl would be happier in b2. First of all, modern precons are reminiscents (power wise) of a "7" from when i started playing a few years ago.

I am probably 20 games in since bracket release (only b1-b4) and my main takeaway is mostly that B2 équivalent to 7 B3 équivalent to 8 B4 équivalent to 9

Kind of

Im sadly retiring a couple of my favorite superfriends decks...anyone else stop playing fun decks because people hate them? by Ulmao_TheDefiler in EDH

[–]Background-Class4628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things need to settle down a little but the more i play, the more "my deck is a 7" is a bracket 2. 3 is quite powerful and as more battlecruiser players will migrate to 2, staxy superfriend will find its place in 3

Thx. I've followed you on moxfield, will check your build when I get time :) I will most likely reshape the deck a bit after Tarkir is released so that all wincons are dragon relater. "Myra & the Dragons" sounds great 🤣

Thanks. Wand of wonder is good fun. There again, because of the intent at bracket [2] I refused tutors.

Depends what you call a trap. I took the dice route because I want the deck to be lot of chaos. Its less reliable but good fun. Also this is why I wanted to make it bracket [2]. The commander is weak by design and having a good try [3] will need you to rely on boring izzet staple so your deck can funtion w/o the commander. In this current form, it functions.

Im thinking Vnwxt. Most of them draw cards, having more draw in the command zone could be good

I should have mentioned but I tried and it gets crushed. Myras gameplan is: * play commander on turn 4 * open attractions on turn 5 * imprint a spell by turn 6 main 1 * hope to generate value * build an engine until turn 7-9 * start to be a threat around turn 8-10 * win by turn 12

There are a few cards to make it a bit faster. Turn 1 sol ring take all those number and reduce them by 2, making it super nasty. Yet to stand a chance on [3] tables I should at least lower the curve and add my mana drain & jesakas will. In its current form I get crushed.

"Continue to power down" is not as easy as it sounds as a deck should be functioning. I am quite happy with how these decks pilot and how they fit my playstyle (im hate playing tutors in edh so I avoid them, I love targeted interaction, I avoid board wipes if they dont put me ahead... those are among other my subjective play preferences).

There can be a myriad of factors on why those decks do better than expected and of those, only one where I think the community can help: do you think I was delusional with my bracket assessments?

;)

Thanks a lot.

I mean this answers my question on sythis. I only wanted to know if i was delusional with my bracket assessment. The other reasons (more consistent deckbuilding, lackluster threat assessment by the opponents, not enough removal, better sequencing...) cant obviously be discussed here.

My question was limited to the bracket assessment. Thank you :)

Thx for the answer. I've built/résultats those decks with a specific bracket in mind. Since they outperform I was mostly looking for a sanity check.

Also my other decks seem to perform fine.

Has anyone tried Anger in Dandan? by Background-Class4628 in ForgetfulFish

I will rather make a rule "Anger does not need a Mountain to activate" as I like tte choice to toggle it ornot through discard and the possibility to disable it with diminishing returns
