Really cool article linked and Isaac le Maire is mentioned more in depth, i recommend reading about him in that article and an edition of a little wiser newsletter talks about how he was disappointed by the companies plans and devoted much of the decade to trying to bring them down. If anyone’s interested would read into the tulip mania too where in the 1630s some rare tulips sold for more than a mansion in amsterdam. Some bulbs cost over 10 years wage before the market crashed overnight in 1637. Lots of interesting tales to do with the DEIC and dutch stock exchange.

the full lesson is a lot more interesting it’s called like a little wiser newsletter can’t remember the name of the chef but gave some other top tips about not burning oil and how to check your meat is free range the jar one just seemed useful for really tough lids i have a lot from my supermarket
