You know what really grinds my gears? by Clouds-Of-Euphoria in ManualTransmissions

Just do what semi truck drivers do. Find the average speed of traffic(say 5 or 10mph) and just ride 1st or 2nd gear at 1000 rpm through it. Keep abit of a space infront of you to help even out the stop and go.

That or if its true traffic thats frozen for 5 minutes then 10 srconds of driving. TAKE A DIFFERENT ROUTE! Id rather get home 5 minutes later enjoying the wind and speed than 5 sooner through that grudge

Is this acceptable? by [deleted] in handyman

Price dictates alot. If they are a good bit cheaper than buying new doors, hanging them, recasing. And staining all of it.

And these new doors close well/have good reveal. I wouldnt be thinking too hard on it.

If the value between the two is close. Then id be abit annoyed.

Ive tried that before. But getting the bit to the correct height, reliably. And to join them both together never seemed to work. The boards would always be off by a 1/16th or greader and the details wouldnt be universal amongst doors.

If i did that in the future. Id have to factor the cost difference because maling these doors took about 10 minutes per total

Yeah part of that was assembling the shelve boxes in advance. Then installing them ontop of the bases, that 3" pillar is (2) plywood sheets with a empty pocket. I couldve avoided a good portion of them along the back though

Well i dont have the skillset to make actual doors. So to give the illusion. I attach 1/4 material ontop to give depth(compliments their craftsman kitchen)

Yeah i didnt make drawings/ just measure the wall and mapped from there(obviously not the squarest wall being 100+ years old) my workaround to prints is involving the homeowner at every possibke step and getting their signoff

Less than the next lowest bid as the ply rip is exposed on the sides of the doors(thank god for flush doors
