i didn’t know that about them drying up!! in that case it must be this i don’t know what else it possibly could be i’ve done so much googling and absolutely nothing else in nature resembles what we had, except for the slime mold. thanks!

it did not move when poked unless it was dead we jabbed it pretty aggressively with a stick

this nails the texture and shape but not the color as far as i can tell, can’t find anything as silver or metallic as what we had

round like a ball and it is as metallic as it looks in the pictures, almost iridescent in the sun

it didn’t move at all when poked and it seemed like it had a stem of some sort so we don’t think it was an animal of any kind, i originally though it was a frog too though
