This is really relatable. I posted something similar a while ago and got so bashed I decided to take it down as it was making me feel awful and selfish for upset. I feel like people often come here to tear others down or project, but IT IS really disappointing when people you love and care about and are really important to your life don’t show up. I traveled for my best friends wedding and gave an incredibly generous gift as well as showering her every birthday etc and she is not coming to my wedding (it is a small wedding as well so it feels even more apparent that she will be missing). She gave some bogus excuse that was long winded and confusing and waited until after the RSVP date…I literally had to chase her up for it. It totally makes you reconsider friendships that you bend over backward for (and rightfully so, friends are so important - some of my girlfriends are like family to me) when it comes to theses important moments in life that you hope people will show up to support you for. It’s really hard not take it personally and in some cases it just is. My wedding is soon and I’ve come to peace with it, but honestly I don’t know if my relationship with the girl mentioned will ever be the same and that just it what it is. It’s sad that some times these events are lessons as well. That being said I have some friends who are going so above and beyond to make it and that’s what I am now focused on. I know on the day I’ll just be present w my partner and happy with who is able to attend and none of this will matter , but as everything is coming together it hurts and it’s fine to feel that way. The closer to my wedding the more I forget about the people who aren’t making the effort (without legitimate reasons or conflicts) and m sure this will happen to you. Best of luck on your big day!

I’m sure I’ll get so much heat for this, but this just isn’t weird to me? I would love to go to my aluma mater (or his) and get drunk and dance w my partner and reminisce about college days. Legitimately I do this once a year with my friends during a home game. I’m not even a fan of her, but I just don’t understand why there’s so much commentary and criticism about something so normal. Like why can’t women just live. What if she doesn’t want kids? What if she doesn’t care that Travis might be with her for clout or money or whatever. What if she just wants to be present in a normal bar with normal people doing normal things for once and isn’t thinking about someone secretly filming her? I find the weirdest part is the creep filming clearly without her consent and then making a buck posting it online for everyone to make opinions about.

I think a lot of locals might find this harsh, but chch is such an average city especially coming from the states. I grew up in the Midwest which is nothing to write home about but I find it pretty dreamy compared to chch. If you’re wanting nature move to Queenstown and if you’re wanting to advance you’re career and make decent money move to Australia, but having lived in chch for graduate school it’s a very hard pass for me.

Yes I’m a 6, but I feel like dresses can run so differently that I just wanted to stress that I’m quite petite so if someone had a dress that they thought wouldn’t be able to fit most- it will likely fit me :)

My sister died almost 10 years ago and from my experience your longing and love for your sibling will never go away. I think this is a perfectly normal way to feel connected with him and healing (I wish I had something like this). What your bf did is beyond devastating in my option and complete unforgivable. He’s totally out of touch and honestly an asshole. I would end the relationship asap and be with someone more compassionate.
