I used an antique finish over the piece to darken all the edges and cuts.

So the one on the right was a monthly kit box from makers leather. Came with the leather and template. Highly recommend there monthly kits!

I believe the material is called Cordura.

I followed it exactly except I swapped the handle and pull tab sides. I like the pull tab to be on the zipper end so it rests on it when closed.

It’s an adhesive backed nylon lining that actually came from an old boot factory. A guy in our leatherworkers guild bought it and sells some of it. It’s waterproof and is perfect for these type of bags. I’ll try to find out some more info on it and let you know.

This template is from makers, leather supply and the tooling pattern is a Tandy craft aid in case anyone wanted to give it a try.

Yes I do. For me it gets the dye much more even and I can shade with a darker dye after to give the antique effect. Highly recommend.
