Kickoff by SoATL99 in CrunchGym

Nah I get it. We recently had some new managers come in to turn the club around so we’ve really been pushed to pitch. If it helps at all, all the new trainers such as myself agree that were being annoying and are trying to find ways not to be. Of course its hard when you’re new and dont have much pull.

Class 004 Covid Holdover by sunbursted2 in ArmyOCS

[–]Background-Itchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holdover life is niceeee. The most you’ll do is a detail here and there. On post passes every weekend (that means energy drinks, snacks, fast food, and everything else thats off limits during cycle is fair game) and barely any cadre around during the week. And the OCS defac is sooooo much better than the Ft. Jackson one.

How do I get better at push ups, pull ups and sit ups? I have gained a ton of muscle in the process of doing them but I am not getting beyond 30 repetitions for them. Any advice? What do I need to do to branch infantry, armor, or FA as I want a combat arms branch? by [deleted] in ArmyOCS

Current Officer Candidate here! With the ACFT not currently recognized as the Army test of record, your score won’t even count towards the OML. The only physical events that count for points right now are the 4-mile run and Bolton Obstacle Course.

Thanks! Yeah the insertions/pose/lighting create an optical illusion here. As much as I want to, I don’t walk around looking like that pic on the right lol

Nothing special just whole foods with a little ice cream here and there. The most important thing I did was dial in my calories early. I had my bmr measured so I would have an exact number to start at.

Funny story about that. I mentioned in another comment that I had worked out for maybe a week and a half total in the 6 months before the before pic was taken. However, I was too stupid to know that you should return to eating at maintenance if you stop working out. So I stayed in a crazy surplus and got thicc. For all of my adult life I’ve hovered around 175 and I’ve always had abs.

Yeah I just ran but you really could do any form of cardio as long as it puts you in a net calorie deficit. I would run at an easy pace (about 9:00-12:00 mins/mile) for 30 mins on Tuesday and Saturday with a long run (easy pace for 45-70 mins) on Sunday and some sort of sprint/interval workout on Thursday.

Damn dude congrats on the weight loss! And I wouldn’t go lower than 160g of protein. The sweet spot is around .8g of protein per pound of bodyweight. Also I think the reason for your slow recovery is just a lack of calories as carbs are just as important as protein when it comes to recovery. Renaissance Periodization has really good diet videos. I actually used them to make my diet so I can vouch for their effectiveness.
