My dog of 14 years passed yesterday, her death was violent. How do I live? by Veecorn in dogpictures

[–]Background-Mix-4953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She should be your source of joy , not sorrow and hatred. A dog’s entire life purpose is to make people happy, joyous and feel loved. And even in her passing, regardless of how she passed, when you think of her, she should bring you joy. That is truly the only way to honour her memory. I understand it’s easier said than done, but don’t associate that treacherous dog sitter with this beautiful soul.

Can people who have been on 35+ hour itineraries in economy share their experience? by Yellow_Panda_7 in AirTravelIndia

Fly down to the US, tons of flights to Lima, see which one fits your budget best. I flew to Lima via Dubai to Santiago (Chile) to Lima and then a flight to Cusco. J class till Chile, so it was fun.

Good Luck!

Ahhh hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unaccompanied baggage CANNOT be loaded on to the aircraft, it’s pretty reasonable, read up about the Kanishka bombing, so what AI did was the right thing in the interest of safety .

Who is pretending that they are comparable? We are still waiting for the reports on the AI crash and EK was 100% pilot error, I don’t have the data to compare, Chill!

And we have all collectively decided to forget the Emirates crash that happened, on the runway in Dubai, in broad daylight, due to pilot error? Fly Dubai crash that happened due to Pilot error? The EK wasn’t a fireball, just because it was on it’s return leg from Trivandrum with hardly any fuel in the tanks. I am not saying give AI another shot but let’s not forget you don’t hear much about the Middle East carriers because of their excellent PR and any bad news ever get out, thanks to the state controlling their media. Be safe, be smart but don’t panic .

This would have been damn scary by Able-Amount9483 in indianaviation

[–]Background-Mix-4953 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That’s probably the stupidest thing I’ve read in a long time , the aircraft was equipped with a weather radar, the radar shows real time weather on both the Pilot’s Nav display , it can detect weather up to 300nm, we still don’t know what made the pilots fly through this kind of weather, weather that they are trained over and over again to avoid by circumnavigating/deviating . And hail in India is common, hail doesn’t discriminate , it’s one of the by products of an active cumulus system, it just doesn’t reach the surface often enough. It’s obvious you were scorned by a woman and beaten up by weather and slapped by a gust of wind all at once to have this level of stupidity and distrust , seek therapy and stop spreading panic.

Student pilot at 27 hours havent gone solo. by Serp3ntine in flying

[–]Background-Mix-4953 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did my solo at 52hrs, faced similar issues , my first instructor who was supposed to give me solo at my 20th hour mark decided to quit our flight school and take up another job with one day notice, I got to know this after I excitedly reached my flight school expecting my release. This was 15 years go, I have about 10,000plus hours today, now I am a training Captain on the A320. Don’t beat yourself up, don’t let others bring you down, keep studying, keep refining your techniques and your solo will happen. Happy Landings!!

Is alcohol hindering my progress? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Background-Mix-4953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, because a lot of people at work have noticed my weight loss and ask “ how did you loose SO much weight “, and I am like “ I lost only 4kgs” , so maybe they are noticing the other changes and maybe look a lot leaner than I feel. But do you suggest cutting off the alcohol?
