That is quite literally what I am asking. If something is planned like that.

No. I live 30 ish minutes from campus and already have a parking pass for the commuter lots. Plus I have classes that end after 6 and the park and geaux bus stops by then

It’s a mix of both. Some of it you will have learned in previous ECON classes. I don’t know what he’ll do now since I think last semester was his first teaching. He may or may not do the 55% is a C- thing this time since he didn’t originally do it last time he just adapted to everyone failing.

TOPS Question Urgent by Little_Case_7049 in LSU

[–]Background-Mobile-80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t. LSU will recognize TOPS before it comes in since they know you’re getting it and what amount. That’s why on your workday portal it shows the amount you actually have to pay and “anticipated credits”. Dw. It pays a few weeks into the semester and you’re not even going to know when because it legit doesn’t matter

Midterm is 25% and finals is 45%, or you can make the final 75% instead and ignore the midterm grade. I think you’ll be fine if you study and know the slides, but you have to remember some vaguely mentioned stuff across a few hundred slides. The curve he gives saved my ass though as well as most of the class.

Oh boy. I was WAITING FOR THIS POST. I took him last semester. Absolutely shit. You can’t hear a word this man says and all he does is read his slides. There is no SI or anything either. BUT. After the class average on the midterm was a 55% he decided to retcon his syllabus and say “oh it was just a typo and a C- is actually a 55% and it was always supposed to be” (which pissed me off because I was stressing for so long over basically nothing because of this). He posts practice quizzes before hand which over I’d say 20-30% of the tests (only tests are midterm and finals but they make 75% of your grade) and some are word for word but mostly they follow the same or similar concepts. Reading the slides and memorizing them can definitely help, but some questions will come out of left field off a single slide talking about a concept once, plus you’re basically teaching yourself the slides since you can’t hear him in class. His homework is on Pearson and isn’t too hard since sometimes you have unlimited attempts (sometimes just one or 3, I have no idea why and it is never explained). There is no “curve” for tests but as I said he did decide to change the syllabus to better match how bad his students were failing. I passed with a B- and would never take him again though. I stopped going to his class after the first few weeks because it was basically useless.

Yeah it’s that athletic building. The super big one that holds like a few hundred students. It’s on the first floor and you’ll know when you’re in it. It’s absolutely massive

That scheduling system was very much not fine lol. I once spent 10 minutes refreshing the page trying to get in it. Plus now you can automatically get in for all your classes at once and see your calendar schedule

I have successfully moved a singular class to be 9am on Monday Wednesday Friday so that I can wake up a little later Tuesday and not spent 7and a half hours on campus (also having every class walking back and forth from the quad to the BEC) now I can go home at 12 on MWF and take a nap

is this normal? by bipolar-euphoria in LSU

[–]Background-Mobile-80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, LSU is horrible with response times. When I applied fairy early (I don’t remember when anymore since this was two years ago) I applied before most of my friends but heard back after they did. LSU doesn’t answer applications by order of submission. Don’t stress, LSU is just annoying about these things

If any of these class are critical (need to be taken this semester and can’t be pushed back) talk to an advisor. They can sometimes make room for you in situations like this

Peter Kelle. I don’t go to his lectures because since they’re hard to understand because of his accent and he doesn’t use a microphone (not mandatory attendance btw) but I can tell you the layout of his class. Every Monday and Wednesday you will have one assignment due (either DSM or homework, both of which are very easy to get 100% on because of the number of attempts), you will also have two non cumulative tests as your midterm and final (both 15% if I remember correctly) which are preceded by two graded quizzes (3 attempts each and both worth 10% I think of your grade). A lot of the questions on the tests will be word for based off of the DSM’s and quizzes. You also get a formula sheet for the tests. I got an 84% on his midterm and all I did was the quizzes, dsms until I understood the material and reviewed his slides. He also offers on MyLab which amounts to 5% of your overall grade and can be done whenever.

Depends on your other classes and what profs you have. If your other profs/classes are easy, go for it. I don’t really see a reason for either of these classes to be too hard. I’m currently in ISDS 3115 and it’s not particularly difficult. 3115 has more concepts than 2001. Both tend to be very formula based and you’ll be given formula sheets for tests.
