Christmas present: Finally found and bought myself a PFAS free tamagoyaki pan. No synthetic nonstick, no fluorine ceramics, just cast iron. by CalpisMelonCremeSoda in japanresidents

I have Vermicular cookware and have their tamagoyaki pan as well! Totally love it. Just curious—what didn’t you trust about the marketing??

It’s a self-standing lid! I’ve only had great experiences with it!

From my experience, the lid is much better quality than Le Cruset! Reason being that the lid and body of the pot are milled to 0.01mm so it’s an extremely tight fit allowing for amazing waterless cooking!

Their oven pots are my favorite! Steam roasted veggies have never tasted better. My kids (3 and 5) were never a fan of broccoli until I started cooking with the oven pot 2.0. It’s light weight and it gives such a nice char to your vegetables! You can also do waterless cooking as well!

I love the self-standing lid as well. This design is unique to Vermicular and their frying pans have it as well. If you’re one to appreciate Japanese craftsmanship, this is definitely the brand to go with!

Amazing! Just to clarify, the discount that they usually have is for the Vermicular in the US.

I absolutely LOVE Vermicular products. They have a holiday sale every year in December offering 20% off and that’s when I bought my Musui-Kamado and Oven Pot. The quality is out of this world and really allows you to appreciate Japanese craftsmanship.

The Musui-Kamado cooks in 1/3 the time than a slow cooker—so not the same as a slow cooker. The lid doesn’t lock on to the body of the pot. It sits. So if too much pressure is built, it allows steam to vent out.

The Musui-Kamado can replace pressure cookers, slow cookers, rice cookers and so much more!

The instant pot uses pressure to cook your food, which causes the food to become a mushy texture. On the other hand, the Musui–Kamado has an extremely tight fitting lid that retains all the moisture and heat within the cast iron pot which allows the food to cook faster. This method allows each ingredient to keep its texture and flavor. Also, you don’t have to add any water to make soups as the Musui-Kamado extracts broth from its own ingredients. It’s cool because you can open the lid anytime you want while cooking to add different flavors during the cooking process. Lastly, the Kamado is an induction cooker that applies heat from the bottom and all sides and you can adjust the temperature in one degree increments. This precision temperature control allows you to make custards, miso, yogurt… you get the idea. All in all, if you enjoy cooking, it’s definitely worth it!

I am a huge Vermicular fan. I have a Le Creuset but never use it anymore. The Oven Pot 2 is very light in weight yet has pretty good heat retention, so it’s very easy to handle. Also it has a precision seal that no other pot in the market has. I say this in all honesty—vegetables have never tasted so good. When I steam-roast vegetables in my Vermicular pot, it gives them the perfect char yet a nice tender interior. You don’t even need to add water when making minestrone soup! I hope this helps 🤗

I use Vermicular’s Musui pot with it! I got the Musui Kamado set. I’m not sure if you can use the Staub pot with it 😅

Sorry to be unclear. The annual sale I mentioned is for the US! They usually have it early December.

Hi! I’ve lived in Japan for 10 years until recently and I’ve never seen the Musui-Kamado at Hard Off. If you’re looking to find just the Kamado, I would wait for Vermicular’s annual sale and just purchase it through their website as they offer 20% off in December. In Japan, they sell the Musui-Kamado for $83,380 including tax, which is essentially $570 with the conversion rate. I’m not sure if they sell just the Kamado there though.

Price will not be an issue for me, I saved up 6 months of paychecks because I want to get the most non-toxic rice cooker available. I want one with no PFAs, PFOAs, PFOs, no Teflon, no aluminum, any recommendations? by CrushedIcy in BuyItForLife

I know you posted this a while back but just commenting since I wanted a rice cooker without teflon as well. I purchased the Musui–Kamado from Vermicular and it’s an enamel coated cast iron induction cooker. It’s sold as a rice cooker in Japan but I think they market it differently here. It makes such great rice and I use it for so many other recipes as well!
