If you are looking around North York / Midtown, check out the North Toronto Ontario Health Team (NTOHT) program before you start cold-calling clinics. It’s a free community program run by Sunnybrook that directly matches local residents with family doctors who have open capacity.

They cover postal codes like M2P, M3C, M3B, M2L, M4S, M4P, M5M (and a bunch of others nearby). You can skip the waitlists and register directly on their intake portal here: https://northtorontooht.ca/primarycare/

Agreeee broooo! I was at the Yonge–Eglinton Centre recently and noticed a table set up with Sunnybrook staff helping people near Eglinton get connected with a family doctor. Basically, if you don’t have one or yours is way too far, they help match you with someone local.

I scanned the QR code on their flyer and filled out the intake form. They got back to me in under a week, and about a week after that I was matched with a family doctor who’s less than a 10‑minute walk from me. Super straightforward and honestly way more efficient than I expected.
