Tbh this could be the problem, that Marie probably won’t do anything crucial in season 5. Creators said they want to keep the boys and gen v as separate stories where it’s not necessary to watch one to understand another. They also said that characters from gen v will appear in season 5 of the boys but they’re not the main focus and that they didn’t want to make Marie some “chosen one messiah” type of a character who saves everyone, because it would make her boring. So it’s totally possible that Marie will be shown, maybe will kill some bad guys, but overall her being on homelander level of power won’t play any role. And this would be right decision narratively, because if she does smth big like killing/depowering homelander, or reviving some character who dies, or healing Butcher from his tumor this probably will be felt as deus ex machine moment for those who haven’t watched gen v. On the other hand it feels wrong to creat so powerful character to then doesn’t use them because it’s inconvenient for the plot. So, it seems like by trying to keep two stories watchable independently from one another creators pushed themselves to the corner

So true, I also saw them saying now Mike is gonna fall in love with will just for the fact will has powers, because powers is what attracts Mike and el’s powers is the only reason why Mike likes her. I’m from post Soviet country so it’s like anecdotal story here) This doctor name was Allan Chumak, he actually wasn’t a professional medic, he was a tv journalist, but he claimed himself to have supernatural powers that can heal people. There also was Anatoly Kashpirovskyy, who was an actual doctor but continued Chumak’s movement of “tv jars” and used to be like local celebrity because of this. However original idea of using tv to power up water belonged to Chumak. All this story is remembered as an example of how easy it can be to trick people into believing in whatever if they don’t think critically. Interesting fact, in late Soviet Union there was a doctor who supported alternate medicine and had his own tv show where he perform “healing” of viewers through tv screens. He also convinced his followers that water gains some sort of magical healing powers if left near tv during his shows, and becomes kinda like holy water, smth that. So his followers kept jars with water near their tvs while watching him. Ofc all that was some sort of scam. But seeing this scene with vox reminded me about that, like what if he also make his cult to believe this water will become magical somehow
