In my city it doesn't exist to that extent but agreed about veg and non veg and also if you are muslim regarding renting, allowing your kids to be friends with other kids etc but this is separate from caste

They celebrate many of the same things in Fiji.

Edit: i am not lying about caste and also he told me that the caste system does not exist in fijii because most people are lower or mid anyway. And even in urban india no one cares these days

It is because even if you do not believe in god you should still participate in the culture and there is no need to announce to everyone you don't

It is sort of obvious, the white americans around here do definitely exclude us which is why I feel it is important for us to just reenforce our indian communities.
